After joining our Extreme Heat Roundtable yesterday, Rep. Adelita Grijalva visited the Museum of Unnatural Disasters and rightly pointed out that climate change is devastating our communities and we need federal protections and investments that put #peopleoverpolluters.

As we prepare to open the #MuseumofUnnaturalDisasters tomorrow, Asheville residents like Colleen are still grappling with the lasting effects that these extreme weather events have on people's lives. Learn more: unnaturaldisastersmuseum.com @climatepower.bsky.social @americanprogress.bsky.social

The wildfires that tore through California last January stole not just Altadena residents' sense of safety in their homes, but the homes themselves. Some mementos were salvageable, and will be showcased at our Museum of Unnatural Disasters in downtown DC starting next week. ⬇️

Last summer’s deadly floods in Texas were a stark reminder of how climate change is making weather feel more and more unnatural. Our Museum of Unnatural Disasters, coming to downtown DC next week, will feature the full version of this video, as well as artifacts from survivors of extreme weather.

Museum of Unnatural Disasters curator Sam Hartman breaks down what she hopes visitors take away from the exhibit when it comes to downtown DC in just *one week*! #UnnaturalDisastersMuseum #ExtremeWeather #PopUpMuseum #ThingstodoinDC

This Spring, CAC student leaders attended the HBCU climate conference, “Legacy Rising: Charting our Future at the Crossroads of Climate and Justice,” where we heard from students about the importance of protecting our climate and what #EnvironmentalJustice means to them.

Lee Zeldin’s EPA thinks the health of kids with asthma is “arbitrary.” When pressed on the real, measurable cost of pollution on families, Zeldin brushed it off to defend industry. @vanhollen.senate.gov is right: our children’s health costs are not a rounding error. #GameOverZeldin

Trump’s EPA has taken an axe to clean air protections to give polluters a free pass. This #WorldAsthmaDay, we deserve an EPA that doesn’t take our breath away.

@sanders.senate.gov reminded Lee Zeldin yesterday that if we want to lower costs and protect the environment, we need to be funding clean energy. @epw.senate.gov #Climatechange #cleanenergy #solar #epa #energycosts

Since Lee Zeldin clearly doesn't know how the EPA's budget impacts our communities @reptroycarter.bsky.social helps explain it to him. @energycommerce.bsky.social #Epa #climatechange #environmentalism #trumpadministration

When the EPA administrator cannot definitively say whether they account for health impacts in agency-decision making, you know we’ve lost the plot. @energycommerce.bsky.social @menendez.house.gov #ZeldinMustGo #climatechange #publichealth

We’d like to see how Lee Zeldin’s confidence looks after he sees how his polluter-friendly policies are worsening the climate crisis and fueling more intense extreme weather.

This #EarthDay, clean energy and climate are under attack. The Trump administration has been rolling back climate progress, treating us as expendable and driving up costs for American families. That's why we're fighting for a clean energy future and a healthy climate.

20 12

The great American comeback? Nothing but lies, broken promises, fossil fuel handouts, and climate attacks all at the hand of Trump's EPA leaving our earth scorched and lives at risk.

Someone who speaks at a climate denier conference spreading gross mistruths is unfit to lead the EPA...and 290+ health professionals agree. #ZeldinMustGo www.actonclimate.com/post/290-hea...

From more extreme weather to increased costs, "climate change is something that every one of us experiences every day." @climatecentral.org

American communities need an EPA administrator that actually protects our health and climate instead of prioritizing fossil fuel handouts. @whitehouse.senate.gov and @markey.senate.gov are standing up for climate protections and calling on Lee Zeldin to resign. #ZeldinMustGo

@casten.house.gov was spot on during our activist call with @momscleanairforce.org last week - renewable energy poses a threat to fossil fuels because it’s cheap, competitive, and clean 🎯 That’s why his #EnergyBillsReliefAct, which champions clean energy, is key to protecting our health and wallets.

"At its core, the climate problem is a human health emergency" 🎯 @nrdc.org Senior Scientist Dr. Vijay Limaye spoke yesterday at @epw.senate.gov's Spotlight Hearing on Climate Costs and reminded us of the very real impacts the climate crisis has on our health. #climatechange #publichealth #congress

Fossil fuel pollution is “poisoning more than just our planet.” By degrading air quality protections, the Trump administration is also causing significant damage to our health. @whitehouse.senate.gov

As @whitehouse.senate.gov explains, “the more this administration rewards Trump’s fossil fuel donors, the more regular Americans are exposed to the risks and costs of climate change.”

The Trump administration’s policies have driven up energy prices for working families by making it nearly impossible to for lower cost energy sources to be available. @rbreich.bsky.social spoke up on just this today during a roundtable hosted by Senate Dems with energy and labor experts.

"If you're a utility customer, you'd better get the joke because the joke is on you" Read Senators Whitehouse, Heinrich, and Schumer’s full report on how Trump's failed policies are raising energy costs and leaving working families to pay the bill: www.democrats.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

Data centers are expanding dramatically, and driving up energy costs for American families along with them. @levin.house.gov is here to protect consumers from increased costs associated with data center growth through the Energy Bills Relief Act.

'@levin.house.gov explains that working families deserve energy affordability and stability, not rising costs and increased attacks on clean energy from the Trump administration. The Energy Bills Relief Act will help curb rising costs by expanding access to affordable, clean energy.

Last month, we visited Tampa to hear powerful stories from testifiers and community members on the impacts of extreme weather in Florida communities. Climate change is fueling costly hurricanes and record-breaking heat in Florida, and we need to take action now.

Trump's EPA is making climate denial official US policy. @schumer.senate.gov explains how their decision to revoke the Endangerment Finding and put polluters first hurts our climate, health and communities:

We visited Muskegon to discuss the impacts of climate change on the Great Lakes. Warming temperatures are affecting the overall health of the lakes, leading to heavier snowfall, unstable ice cover, and increased algal blooms. Our federal leaders must take climate action.

Earlier this month, CAC visited LA and hosted a tour with community members and local leaders to discuss the impacts of the January 2025 wildfires. One year later, residents are still facing devastating impacts and struggling to rebuild. Without climate action, these disasters will get worse.

One year after some of the deadliest and most destructive wildfires in state history tore through Los Angeles, families are still reeling, businesses are still recovering, and communities are still rebuilding—yet the Trump admin continues to withhold critical disaster relief and deny climate change.

29 12

In 2025, extreme weather events impacted communities all over the country. These storms, fires, and floods are all being intensified by climate change. It’s time to act now.

2 2

Climate change won’t stop unless we act. It’s up to you to choose to fight for our climate.

We can’t go back. From #SuperstormSandy to #HurricaneMelissa, extreme weather disasters have become too frequent due to climate change. We won’t stand by while the Trump administration jeopardizes our health and safety. #ActOnClimate.
