Well over 80% of Arizonans vote by mail. It is a popular, secure system. Voters have shown time after time that they like this option and will reject those who want to get rid of it. Bottom line: The federal government has no place dictating backwards policy to the states.

The one constant we can always depend on in life is change. Yes, our political discourse is drastically different from what it used to be. But we can't look backwards. We must battle through this. We must do the work, and I'm working every day to protect our American experiment.

As a Marine, my job is to defend the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Our institutions are under grave threat. So I intend to remain at my post, standing in the breach as Secretary of State, to continue fighting for AZ and defending our democratic process.

Protecting democracy means strong cybersecurity for our elections in every county, not just the well-funded ones. Unfortunately, President Trump's resource cuts put our systems at grave risk. I won't stand for it. I'll always fight like hell to secure Arizona's elections.
