The Menands Fire Department is temporarily operating alongside the Schuyler Heights Fire District while using their apparatus. Officials said the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department has also provided an engine that will operate out of the DPW to help maintain quick response times for residents.

The Menands Fire Department is out of service after a fire damaged its building and two trucks. Mutual aid will protect the area while the department makes repairs and the investigation continues.
