We do not have to choose between retaining and growing jobs in the film and television industries and increasing the diversity of its workforce. We can and must do both. #SB132

The commitment to higher education & the grace that was offered to our public colleges and universities in the form of a zero interest loan in the 2025-26 state budget has not been shared by this body when it comes to our public TK-12 schools. Do better. #ab123

The constitutional question before us is this: Can a state under the 10th Amendment step in to protect its residents from harm when the federal government fails to do so? I would argue yes. AB 288 protects California workers’ federal & state constitutional rights to free speech & free association

AB 57 is not only a response to a historical injustice— it is an investment in California’s economic future. Expanding homeownership builds generational wealth, stabilizes communities and strengthens our broader economy.

LA is strong, diverse and resilient. Our resilience is our strength and we will not be intimidated by anyone threatening our peace. Including threats by this President.

The federal government must stop its assault on the State of California.

This week is the Assembly’s deadline to pass all bills out of our house. Excited to share that six of my bills were approved today. Grateful for the community’s support of these important legislative issues.

The only people that benefit from artificially low campaign finance limits are dark moneyed interests that use low candidate campaign finance limits to restrict candidate speech and promote speech favored by the billionaire class. #ab351

For many workers, especially those who are immunocompromised, caring for vulnerable family members, or working in higher-risk environments, the ability to wear a mask is a simple but critical tool to protect their health.

My #AB288 respects federal labor law, but affirms that if California workers are unable to get a remedy at the federal level, California can act to protect a worker’s fundamental right to organize.

Grateful for the hundreds of firefighters from across California who came to testify in support of my #ab1383 & who sacrifice everyday to protect the lives & property of everyone in the Golden State.

In order to ensure that all Californians have access to jobs in the film and television industries, my #AB1377 will help to guide current and future efforts to retain and grow this important and uniquely California industry.

My #AB970 aims to create a more proactive and supportive approach to mandated reporting, focusing on better training for reporters, reducing biases and providing families with early interventions and resources.

Allowing older & disabled incarcerated people to make informed decisions about their work participation without fear of losing essential privileges such as rehabilitation, #AB1144 upholds their human dignity & provides reasonable accommodations to this unique population.
