Bird of the Day: Sudan Golden Sparrow🐦 To celebrate today's theme, "United in Flight", we are spotlighting the Sudan Golden Sparrow. First described in Dongola, Sudan, the species name luteus means saffron yellow in Latin.

Today, our bird of the day is the Seaside Sparrow. This sparrow has great signficance to the Gullah Geechee people who inhabit the same region. A people stolen from West and Central Africa into chattel slavery who have resided in the SE U.S. especially coast of South Carolina and Georgia. #blacksky
