Congratulations to all the incredible residents in my riding who have received the Good Neighbour Award! Thank you for your selflessness, your hard work, and for always stepping up to support those around you.

What started as 171, is now 250 staffing cuts in YRDSB. These aren't just numbers; they are frontline workers who keep our schools safe and support our most vulnerable students. Our kids deserve better than a gutted edu system. If you agree, call your local MPP and demand action to stop the cuts.

The Minister has no answer for why his govt is prioritizing $5 billion for a runway in Lake Ontario while teachers and edu workers are being fired, except to talk about the private sector and accuse me of socialism. With this govt, our kids and the people who support them always come last. #onted

The Minister claims he’s listening to parents, but the facts speak for themselves. Funding for special edu staff is going down—leaving kids without the access and support they deserve—but somehow this govt can find $5 billion to spend on allowing private jets to land on Toronto’s waterfront. #onted

Ford’s unelectable, unaccountable supervisor Bob Plamondon has cut education workers, teachers, and principals at OCDSB schools, including 35 lead hands. This ensure that our schools are safe and clean for students. Email supervisor@ocdsb.ca Petition www.chandrapasma.ca/stop_the_cuts_to_ocdsb

Climate change is driving up the number of heatwaves in Ontario, yet our schools and buses aren’t equipped to handle it. Today, I’m tabling the Fighting Extreme Heat in Schools Act to set maximum temperature standards, fix infrastructure gaps, and protect our students and education workers. (1/2)

Another Conservative cut disguised as an increase! Per-student funding is once again failing to keep up with inflation. Students, families, and educators deserve better than the cupboards are always bare mentality of this minister. #onpoli #onted

Using the Notwithstanding Clause is a direct attack on the Charter-protected right to free and fair collective bargaining. That's why I tabled a petition brought forth by OSSTF/FEESO to demand an end to this practice. It’s time to respect workers and the law. #onpoli

Renting in Ottawa shouldn't be a luxury. With 1-bdrms averaging over $2,000, the cost of living is pushing people to the brink. I’ve tabled a petition for rent control so no one has to choose between food and a roof over their head. #onpoli

331 teachers fired at Peel and mass emails being sent with all the names of those who were laid off. This is what you get when you appoint an unqualified supervisor who's only credentials are having worked for a Conservative. The buck stops with the Minister and his supervisor.

Homestead is 1 of 5 companies behind 25% of all Ontario AGI apps. Despite a flawed filing, the LTB granted them a "do-over," leaving seniors at 2001 Carling facing retroactive hikes from 2021. We must end corporate exploitation. We need real rent protections now. #onpoli

Algonquin College is an integral institution in Ottawa. But the Conservative govt's persistent underfunding has led to repeated program cuts and the loss of the Perth campus. By cutting OSAP and destabilizing our colleges and universities, this govt is failing students when support is needed most.

The Minister can deflect, but the truth is simple: we brought amendments, and his government rejected every one. Parents and educators raised concerns, and he ignored them. Why is he avoiding accountability? #onpoli #onted

Learning to read music or play an instrument is integral to a well-rounded education, yet thousands of students across ON are denied this opportunity. That's why I tabled a petition demanding the govt mandate a minimum instructional time for music for all students from Grades 1 through 8. #onted

This govt may be dropping the ball on our education and our kids, but I know that won't stop us from demanding better. Nominations for school trustees open today, and I hope anyone who was thinking about running will still put their name forward.

Bill 101 is not a good bill. If this government were truly listening to students, parents, educators, and advocates, they would withdraw this bill. 1/2

If there's one thing Bill 101 does achieve, its taking away any accountability from the Minister of EDU for his own actions. Liability appears more than 40 times in the bill, a stark change from its predecessor. We deserve to know why accountability is literally being written out with this law.

When Special Education is underfunded, students are excluded, full stop. The minister knows this is happening, yet won’t take responsibility by eliminating his own deficit and committing to fully funding Ontario’s education system. #onted #onpoli

We had a chance to stop price gouging and ban surveillance pricing, protecting consumers against corporations using their data to jack up prices. Instead, the Ford government voted our NDP motion down. You deserve a government that puts people before profits. #onpoli

One day of hearings for a major education bill tells you everything you need to know. If Bill 101 actually met the needs of our community, the Minister wouldn’t be rushing it through. He’s only giving us 1 day because he’s afraid to hear that people don’t support his power grab. #onted #onpoli

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this pile of petitions represents hundreds of voices across school boards. This massive stack of petitions is our message to the government: you cannot ignore a $6.3 billion hole in our education system. Start investing in our schools. #onted #onpoli

If you’re going to name a bill "Putting Student Achievement First," you should probably mention students more than five times. Instead, "liability" shows up 43 times. It’s pretty clear where the priority lies, and it isn’t in the classroom. #onpoli #onted

There are kids like Arizona falling through the cracks every day because of this government's funding cuts. But this minister is more focused on accumulating power over school boards than actually providing the support. This is shameful. #onted #onpoli

Tonight, my bill to protect seniors from price gouging by retirement residence companies will be debated. The bill, if passed, would put an end to predatory service fee increases. Hundreds of Ontarians have signed a petition calling on the Ford govt to support it; I hope they will listen. #onpoli

The Minister's handpicked supervisors are making nearly $400,000, but cutting educators and teachers to save money. I asked the Premier why he is more focused on firing teachers than properly funding our schools.  #onted #onpoli

Tomorrow, my bill, the Protecting Seniors' Rights in Care Homes Act, will be debated. Currently, seniors across the province are facing unimaginable stress from rent and care fee hikes, as high as $30,000. This bill aims to regulate these costs so that no senior is forced out of their home. #onpoli

Children are already struggling in oversized classrooms and this government's solution is to cut more funding resulting in even fewer teachers and education workers next year. It's clear the Ford government does not have our kids' best interests in mind. #onted #onpoli

You can’t claim to be "tough on crime" while presiding over a system where more than half of all charges are dropped. Courtrooms are triple-booked and under-resourced and Bill 75 addresses none of this. This govt is failing victims, failing on public safety, and letting the justice system crumble.

The government is sitting on $462 million in unspent education funds while teachers go without paper and pencils. They appointed insiders making $350k a year who watch in silence as teachers are fired and programs are slashed. This isn't a mistake. The cuts are the point, and it is unacceptable.

Unemployment is climbing, grocery prices are through the roof, and food bank lines are stretching around the block. Yet, the new budget managed to skip over two key things making life unaffordable: rent and groceries. Who is this budget for & why is this govt missing the mark on issues that matter?

With high youth unemployment rates and skyrocketing rents, the future of students has never been more precarious. And now, this government decided to slash OSAP and hike up tuition. That's why I'm proud to table this petition from my constituents to Save OSAP and Fund Education Now! #onted #onpoli
