➡️ Big Oil knew their products would cause climate chaos. As CCI's @mikemeno.bsky.social explains, the industry saw “the writing on the wall” decades ago and launched a “massive deception campaign to spread climate denial and disinformation” and stifle clean energy competition.

John Yoo thinks that communities shouldn’t have the right to sue Big Oil for lying about the safety of their products. The law professor has also been accused of war crimes and been investigated for violations of domestic and international law. 🙄

Big Oil is facing dozens of lawsuits over its decades-long climate deception. Rather than face a jury, Big Oil is now lobbying Congress for a legal shield. “We should not be putting the interests of a corporate entity over the interests of our citizens," says Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill.

Former Washington Governor Jay Inslee is right: “People don't like being lied to.” When corporations lie, they should be held accountable. "The fossil fuel industry [has] been lying to the American people for decades. They knew their product was going to cause enormous harm."

Former congressional investigator Aria Kovalovich talked about new evidence of Big Oil’s climate deception obtained last year through a joint House-Senate investigation.

They say that time spent fishing is time well spent. We’re pretty sure that billionaire Big Oil investor Paul Singer, who flew out his friend Justice Samuel Alito to go fishing in Alaska, would agree with that. 🙄

➡️ Big Oil isn’t just asking the high court to intervene on their behalf. The industry is also lobbying the Trump administration to shield them from any laws or lawsuits that would hold them accountable.
