We're seeing warmer ocean waters and stronger, more rapidly intensifying hurricanes after Big Oil spent decades pushing denial, disinformation, and deception to delay climate action and protect fossil fuel profits. It's time for accountability.

Big Oil is lobbying Congress for total immunity from any laws or lawsuits that could hold the industry accountable for fueling the climate crisis and lying about it. We can’t let that happen.

Serious question: Why is the Trump administration fighting so hard to help Big Oil escape the courtroom?

➡️ Big Oil isn’t just asking the high court to intervene on their behalf. The industry is also lobbying the Trump administration to shield them from any laws or lawsuits that would hold them accountable.

Ten years ago, the world learned that #ExxonKnew as early as the 1970s that its fossil fuel business would fuel a climate crisis — but that they purposefully buried the science to protect their profits.

Why are New Jersey residents paying for climate disasters that Big Oil knowingly fueled? "100-year floods happening every five to ten years...really cause havoc,” explains Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill. “It shouldn’t be up to the average citizen to pay for what they did."

Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and other Big Soda companies launched the “Keep America Beautiful” campaign just as they were massively scaling up plastic production. Big Soda continues to avoid accountability for the plastic pollution crisis—but now with help from Big Oil, their plastic supplier. 🙄

Last year, Hurricane Helene tore through the southeastern U.S., causing up to 50% more rainfall in some parts of Georgia and the Carolinas than we would have seen in a cooler world. CCI's @kellysanks.bsky.social unpacks why Big Oil must be held accountable for fueling more destructive hurricanes.

Plastic costs U.S. taxpayers as much as $1.1 trillion per year, according to a new report from Duke University. The Big Oil companies that are making a fortune from producing plastic are counting on us not noticing that we’re being robbed.
