i havent really paid attention to this before, but at this point its a running gag, knuckles calls out other characters for playing along with something contrived only for others to bully him into agreeing anyway

you see i do get the complaint that the gang in pokemon anime gets lost in the woods too much. but considering that the writers are self aware of their own shtick we can get very funny scenes like these so i can work with that
