I'm pretty sure there's an even smaller one than the one that appears out of a garden in this footage, which also from this morning. #FoxOfTheDay

Hello, old friend! One of my favourite beetles now. Deleaster dichrous. It was new to me in the garden last year, and I had 8 in total to my actinic moth trap in Filton. Until the moth group indoor winter meeting back in Feb, I'd not met anyone else who had ever seen it. Anyone else get them?

Presuming this is Oonops domesticus. It's not really possible to check tibial spines with a hand lens. Found in the bathroom of my caravan on Exmoor around 5.00am this morning. I noticed it because of the short dashes it was making. @britishspiders.bsky.social

More Foxes & Rooks than moths this morning! Only 7 moths of 5 spp, but nice to get Dark Sword-grass. #FoxOfTheDay

It's a long time since I've got footage like this. Brief appearance by one I've been trying to help since late Jan too. Be kind. #FoxOfTheDay

Male Andrena bicolor (Gwynne's Mining Bee) having a clean up after I rescued it from the bird bath. Nice soundtrack from the new rookery on the railway embankment.

In my last post, I joked about becoming a corvid magnet. Well, here's some footage from out on my walk the other day. It might just look like they've come down to peanuts I've thrown down for them, but the one picking up peanuts here was actually walking around my feet before I'd got them out!

Who needs fireworks, eh! Much better. I got this footage standing on top of the bench in the back garden in Filton a short while ago. I nearly lent back too far! @bristolbirding.bsky.social

Jackdaws in two waves from the garden (well, it was actually my neighbour's, as I was dog sitting) in Filton just before it got dark y'day evening. @bristolbirding.bsky.social

A moth lifer for me on Exmoor today. Diplodoma laichartingella larva with case covered in particles, incl insect remains. Found attached to the underside of a rock I'd turned over in Horner Woods today looking for something else. #teammoth

It's always nice to see Serica brunnea. Also, from the trap on Exmoor this morning.
