We fought all day to pass the bipartisan Senate bill to pay TSA, FEMA, and Coast Guard workers after 43 days with no paycheck. Every House Republican said no and kept the government shut down.

I just got out of a Rules Committee meeting on the government funding bill. Here’s what you should know:

Every single House Rules Republican voted to continue the shutdown instead of passing the Senate’s bipartisan TSA/FEMA funding bill. Republicans said it themselves: this shutdown is on them.

You may be wondering why the House hasn’t passed the TSA funding bill sent over by the Senate this morning. The answer is simple: Republicans don’t listen to the American people.

Today is payday for TSA. House Republicans are 43 days late paying TSA and the Coast Guard—and still refusing to bring the bill to the floor.

Our TSA, FEMA, and Coast Guard employees have now gone 38 days without a paycheck because Republicans refuse to hold ICE to the same standards that our other law enforcement officials already practice.

Many Republicans have now admitted that ICE has sufficient funding from their Big Ugly Bill. Yet, they refuse to pass a bill to immediately fund TSA, FEMA and the Coast Guard because they say ICE needs more money. Make it make sense.

If it’s good enough for Trump, why isn’t it good enough for working Americans?
