Clean water is not a luxury. It's essential to our health, environment, and economy. From harmful algae blooms to aging septic systems, East End waterways are facing serious challenges that impact our bays, fisheries, beaches, and quality of life. We need real solutions.

This Pride Month, I'm sharing a piece of my story. When I was 14 or 15, I came out as gay. A few weeks after telling a friend, I sat down with my parents and did one of the hardest things I've ever done. I was fortunate to have parents who loved and supported me through that journey.

One issue comes up again and again when I talk to Democrats, Independents, and even Republicans across Long Island: corruption. People are tired of watching politicians get rich while working families struggle to afford groceries, housing, healthcare, and everyday necessities.

It was an honor to spend time with Hamptons homeowners and hear directly about the challenges families are facing every day. Families are being squeezed by rising costs, high gas prices, and an economy that simply isn’t working for working people. It’s time for change.

In Suffolk County, more than 40,000 veterans call this community home, yet too many are still struggling to access the care and support they’ve earned. We ask people to serve this country, but when they come home, they shouldn’t have to fight just to receive healthcare.

At the grocery store, people aren’t talking about party lines. They’re talking about prices. The cost of living on Long Island keeps rising, and families are feeling it every single day. People don’t want constant political fighting. They want relief.

Right now, nearly 9 out of 10 Americans disapprove of Congress. That’s not just a statistic, it’s a reflection of how disconnected Washington has become from the people it’s supposed to serve. That’s exactly why I host town halls and why, as your Congressman, I will continue to host them regularly.

What happened this week near the Islamic Center of Deer Park is unacceptable. Anti-Islam graffiti has no place in our communities, and no one should ever feel unsafe because of how they pray. Long Island is stronger than hate. We must stand together, reject hate in all forms.

In the middle of everything else going on, this administration quietly fired every member of the board overseeing the National Science Foundation. Let’s call this what it is: reckless. America became a global leader because we invested in science, discovery, and the people shaping the future.

Every door knocked is a reminder that change begins with showing up. This campaign isn’t built behind closed doors. It’s built in neighborhoods, on front porches, through conversations, and by people who believe their voice matters.
