One of my priorities is to stand up a team dedicated to being out in the community every day across all 39 cities & unincorporated areas. From supporting local leaders to connecting people with services, our new Community Service and Response team works side by side with residents to solve problems.
Thank you Metro for bringing us all a new way to pay! Now, with Tap to Pay, riders across the region can access transit even easier. Riders ages 18 and up can tap their credit or debit card, smartphone or smartwatch to pay fare on all King County Metro modes of transit. kingcounty.gov/metro/tap2pay
It’s time for another Executive Update! January has been the first full month of my new administration and our teams have been hard at work opening new housing, expanding transit, organizing federal response, recovering from floods, and building a team that can begin advancing policy priorities.
Proud to be in Federal Way today for the opening of Booker House, a new Health Through Housing community providing 86 units of permanent supportive housing for ppl facing chronic homelessness. This is Health Through Housing’s 15th building providing 369 supportive housing units in South King alone.
I’m wishing everyone a meaningful MLK Day. In King County, the only jurisdiction in the nation named in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we carry a special obligation to turn his vision for justice into action, through service, public policy, and a commitment to dignity and humanity for all.
A couple weeks ago, I took the oath as Executive. Since then, we have declared an emergency to protect lives, reorganized government to deliver better results, stood up to the Trump administration, and brought new leadership into the County. This is just the beginning, and I will keep you updated.
In their first meeting, Mayor-elect @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social and Executive-elect Zahilay discussed the urgent challenges facing the region and the importance of coordinated action. Their conversation covered homelessness, childcare, federal funding cuts, and set the foundation for collaboration
We launched our campaign last December and tonight at 8 PM, polls close and this chapter comes to an end. No matter what happens, I want to take a moment to share my deepest gratitude. Thank you to everyone who showed up to make our community a better place for all. Turn those ballots in before 8!
When I tell people I’m running for King County Executive, most ask, “What’s that?!” So I hit Bellevue Park to find out how many know. Not many! This role runs housing, transit, public health, criminal justice & more for 2.3M people. Ballots drop Thurs. Join us Sun 1 PM to rally: bit.ly/girmayrally
