River levels are expected to rise this weekend as mountain snowmelt and rainfall increase flows on the Bow and Elbow Rivers. No flooding is expected, but a boating advisory is in effect and some pathway closures are likely. Thank you to City crews monitoring conditions around the clock.

Just heading into day two of Council with a quick update after some important decisions last night focused on making Calgary safer.

I’ve heard from Calgarians deeply concerned about the AISH and ADAP changes. For some, that means about $200 less each month for rent, groceries, or medication. Council has formally raised concerns with the province. Albertans with disabilities deserve stability, dignity, and opportunity.

Voting on whether to have a vote is a ridiculous lack of provincial leadership. Calgary is a globally connected city. Separation uncertainty is costing us jobs. We have real work to do: building homes, improving public safety, fixing infrastructure, growing our economy, and making life better.

I’ve heard from Calgarians across the city: I support keeping Calgary’s free fare zone. It makes downtown safer and more accessible. We need to support local businesses, and keep transit a practical option for workers, students, seniors, and visitors making short trips through our core.

Great to tour the Calgary Humane Society this week. Thank you for the warm welcome and for the incredible work your team does every day. Met a few new friends, some more interested in treats than policy. Looking forward to building a closer relationship.

I've heard from thousands of Calgarians. We need to keep the LRT free fare zone. People have made decisions around where to live, work, and do business based on it. It helps move people downtown, supports safety through busy platforms, keeps transit accessible, and is central to hosting major events

On the #22 into work this morning. Two big wins at committee this week for public safety: advancing Calgary’s broader Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan, and supporting the next steps toward reopening a downtown police station. More support, prevention, and visible presence for a safer Calgary.

Great to join Bike to Work Day and see so many Calgarians out riding. People should have the freedom to choose how they get around, whether that’s driving, transit, walking, or biking. Safe streets for our kids and families make every option work better.

Today is The National Day of Mourning to remember those who lost their lives or who were injured at work.

With support from Council including Councillor Dan McLean, I am bringing forward a motion to explore reopening a downtown police station. Calgary is the only major North American city without one. Visible presence, more prevention, and stronger safety action matter.
