Was ich an dieser Stelle der Nordreportage mag? Sie adressiert die Probleme, die Autos uns seit Jahrzehnten mit immer mehr Wucht in unserem Alltag schaffen. Dennoch ist die tägliche Debatte eher von EscooterBashing geprägt. Ich wünschte, wir alle, die unter der Autodominanz leiden, wären eine Lobby.

Wenn doch alle, die Raum erhalten, so ein Rückgrat beweisen würden. Danke an Ingo Fliess für diese Haltung. Es braucht davon mehr.

This is how Berlin should always feel. And it’s not *that* funny, but then again it is-thinking about how much effort this video took, because I didn’t want any of those lousy mandatory bike lanes, illegally parked cars, or car people blocking the bike path in the shot.

Every time I stand on a completely packed train platform—or, like yesterday at Critical Mass—I think about how funny we are, the ones who have the worst conditions and yet still don’t drive a car. Drivers should praise us every morning. Imagine them all in cars!

It’s always a hassle for me when I leave the house: Finding my spot among all the corrugated metal sheets, whose windows are currently completely caked over because the linden trees have shed their leaves and the debris hasn’t been cleared away for days.

The sound of a city should be human, not mechanical. The city is an organism that has been turned into an engine room and a transit hub. Yesterday I was at various locations right next to busy (car-)roads. It was exhausting to wait for the human sounds to take over: Not until late in the evening.

Ich habe mit @positivemaren.bsky.social und @arnesemsrott.bsky.social heute einen Podcast aufgenommen, den ich auf neudeutsch gesprochen sehr "wholesome" fand. Sonntag könnt ihr ihn hören. Und Montag das Buch im Handel kaufen. "Gegenmacht" ist Arnes "how to" nach der Analyse von "Machtergreifung".

Ich sorge für Wirbel, weil ich Menschen darauf hinweise, dass es kein Problem ist, Plattformdinge zu buchen, es aber ein Problem ist, nicht anzuerkennen, Teil der Ausbeutung und mangelnden Menschenrechte zu sein. Ich habe euch mal im Zug Alternativen zusammengestellt. Freue mich über Ergänzungen!

Germany has no strategy for shaping the mobility of the future nor a vision. I’m always happy to invite politicians who take a different approach. Take Francois Bausch, for example, minister in Luxembourg for ten years. A strategy to meet mobility needs rather than increase car use? Sounds good!

What do you think? To me, the climate crisis and the external pressure to create socially and environmentally just mobility have shown that, as a society, we simply don’t want it. The car system suits too many people; even to those who can only get around by car, it seems fair.

Wie soll ich meine Arbeit für eine sozial gerechtere Mobilität machen, wenn selbst ein Mensch von den Grünen offensichtlich nicht in der Lage ist, klare rote Linien für sich zu formulieren - aus Angst vor Machtverlust. Cars are the problem, not the the solution. Even if we electrify them. Our call them autonomous.

Cities where quality of life improves in tandem with people-friendly mobility have approachable leaders who don’t hide in their limousines, but instead “put themselves out there” for their city by riding bikes, taking the subway, and walking. In Germany, this is too often unthinkable. Unfortunately.

My Hamburg is finally *sigh* getting its first school zone—a project that, despite years of planning, almost fell victim to the so-called "parking moratorium": all measures aimed at transforming parking lots into living spaces are reviewed. Do you have something like that where you live?

All das schaffe ich nur, indem ich verdränge. Wie egal es uns gesellschaftlich und politisch ist, dass Kinder sinnlos sterben! Alle 20 Minuten wird ein Kind auf unseren Straßen verletzt oder sogar getötet. Warum ist das „okay”? Was kann ich tun, damit auch ihr das nicht mehr aushaltet?

Meine Kinderbuchwoche ist großartig gestartet! Ich finde auch die Organisation super, dass sich Bibliotheken und das Regierungspräsidium die Kosten teilen. Fragt doch mal bei euch nach, ob sowas nicht auch denkbar ist, um mehr Kinder4Future zu influencen <3
