We can’t have public safety without public trust. I spoke with residents in Ward 8 last week at a forum hosted by Academy of Hope & REACH about the DC we deserve: safer streets, lower costs, and real opportunity for everyone. Let’s build it.

They killed this man in cold blood. They literally pulled him into a physical encounter that he had not initiated. His back was turned, and he appeared to be attempting to protect and provide aid to the persons who had been pepper sprayed. ICE needs to go now.

The trust in our federal law enforcement has been completely eroded due to the encroachment of ICE and HSI. We need to bring that trust back, and that’s what I’ll do as mayor.
