A Ukrainian dog who lived in this destroyed building comes to get food from the Hachiko team. 🥹

Lunch for this kitty today after we refilled one of the Hachiko feeding stations near Pavlohrad, Ukraine. The netting behind her protects from Russian drones that swarm this area trying to kill anything that moves.

These dogs were so happy to greet the Hachiko team bringing food+medicine. We met Diana who cares for them—she rescued 8 dogs and 2 cats, having found them in the forest and in an abandoned quarry. Diana also feeds 10 homeless dogs every day. Another everyday hero in Ukraine!

These pups were rescued today from Novomykolaivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Look at how sweet they are despite everything they have endured.

This is how the drone detectors work during a Hachiko pet rescue mission. They intercept the video signal of nearby drones, so the team knows when they are in danger. It’s not perfect, but it helps.

Olha from the Hachiko team evacuated a mother dog and her puppies from Zarichne, Ukraine — very close to the front line in Zaporizhzhia region and heavily destroyed. She visits areas few are willing to go because it’s so dangerous. A true hero!

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored a Hachiko feeding station in the name of their pet 🙏 This is Hopscotch’s station in Izium in eastern Ukraine! $500 helps cover the cost of pet food refills for the year.

In Kramatorsk we recently evacuated pets as the air raid siren went off. It’s terrifying for the dogs and cats. Thankfully, we were able to get them safely to Kharkiv. 4/4

Take a look at the destruction from Russian drones and bombs. Nothing is untouched in this area. 3/4

This is what it’s like evacuating the dogs: moving quickly to avoid drone attacks, destroyed buildings and shattered glass everywhere. 2/4

Ukrainian dogs patiently wait in line as the Hachiko team refills a feeder today near Izium in eastern Ukraine. 🐕🐕‍🦺🐕

Thanks to the Municipality of Beit Mery and Ministry of Agriculture, we delivered food & installed new Hachiko feeding stations for dogs 🐕 impacted by the war in Lebanon this week. Many animals were evacuated north away from fighting but there’s not enough space in pet shelters.

28 3

Pets are also being impacted by the war in Lebanon, so our Hachiko team from Ukraine is helping with food & building feeding stations. This video is from Saida, Lebanon where our friends met these displaced dogs—a mother with her puppies. Pet shelters are all full due to the war.

This is the devastated town of Kamianka in eastern Ukraine, where very few residents remain. But there are displaced pets still living here, so the team made sure this kitty had some lunch today.

29 9

On this Easter weekend in Ukraine, our friend “Specs” is both defending the front line from Russian invaders, and feeding cats with Hachiko food we sent him. You can see at the end of the video how destroyed it is where these pets are living. 😔

Caturday lunch in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine 😺 I visited the home of Kati who cares for 25 displaced cats here. They survived a nearby missile strike last summer. The Hachiko team supports dozens of informal shelters like this with food, medicine and sterilization.

48 14

This is how kids go to school in eastern Ukraine: underground. I visited a school in Kharkiv that has turned their basement into classrooms, as missiles & drones hit without warning. All Hands & Hearts will help Kharkiv with supplies & solar so kids can still learn during blackouts.

🚨 What it’s like getting a morning coffee in Kharkiv. Nobody really flinches at the air raid sirens here in eastern Ukraine, unfortunately, as they are active for 80% of the day. But life, and coffee, must go on. ☕️

22 5

Caturday morning breakfast in the eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk. The Hachiko team can’t stay here long due to drone attacks, but thankfully we’re still able (for now) to get food to displaced cats here.

49 14

The Ukrainian military helped us deliver to frontline towns in Kharkiv region too dangerous for the Hachiko team to visit. This woman sent us a video—the cats didn’t wait to eat, but look at how patient the dogs are! 🐕🇺🇦

Update on “Ash” the cat rescued in freezing Kupiansk, eastern Ukraine: she was in bad shape, but after a blood transfusion & antibiotics, her fever is down and she’s doing much better. 🙏 Look at how sweet she is to the doctor!

36 6

A Valentine’s Day gift: our All Hands & Hearts Gaza warehouse cat Pisa just gave birth to 2 kittens! We found Pisa pregnant & malnourished, so the Gaza team has been caring for her. We are also now supporting possibly the only vet clinic in Gaza—let me know if you want to help! 🐱🙏

34 11

It’s Caturday, so the dogs of Ukraine know to let the cats eat first. 😸 This is in Sloviansk in the Donetsk region, which is under frequent attack. Putin wants Ukraine to hand over this area, but the Hachiko team is still here helping the pets!

34 15

Last night, Russia bombed one of our Invincibility Train Cars in northeastern Ukraine. Thankfully, nobody was hurt! 🙏 You can see toys & books from the All Hands & Hearts children’s area blown in with all the glass. Somehow, the kid’s TV survived. We will clean up and keep helping!

30 14

It may be -25 degrees in Ukraine, but the dogs still need to eat! 🐕

58 13

Lots of hungry Ukrainian cats this morning! Despite having limited electricity and heat, Valentina in Kharkiv takes care of dozens of displaced cats in her apartment. We are making sure they have food & medicine.

53 17

Very happy doggo getting some food from the Hachiko team in Kharkiv! It’s so cold in Ukraine right now, we are doing everything we can to help displaced dogs and cats like this. Thank you for your support!

The Hachiko team is driving the frontline today to reach displaced pets. These net “tunnels” cover the road to protect from drone attacks. Unfortunately, helping our furry friends in Ukraine is becoming more dangerous by the day.

25 5

Keeping the feeders filled in -20 degree weather 🥶 for displaced Ukrainian pups like this.

60 17

Cat rescue underway! Our combat medic friend Marika found this cat in sub-freezing temperatures in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region (still controlled by Ukraine, but it’s very destroyed). She’s ill, so we will get her to a warm, safe place for treatment this week. Suggestions for a name?

69 15

Happy Caturday from a frozen eastern Ukraine. Admittedly, the cats are not as well mannered as Ukrainian dogs—no waiting in line here. But I can’t blame them, it’s -20 degrees 🥶

Snowy Caturday breakfast in Kharkiv, Ukraine. 30 cats live outside this apartment building (they go into the basements at night) and 20 live in one of the apartments. The Hachiko team will be setting up feeding stations here thanks to your donations. 😺

42 10

In snowy Kharkiv, the Hachiko team met these good dogs 🐕 who were homeless and very hungry. Local resident Andrey is helping to take care of them, so we made sure he has enough food, plus warm bedding and hay for a shed where they can escape the cold.

41 11

Today on Christmas Day in Ukraine, the Hachiko team helped evacuate this dog Barbos from Kramatorsk to a safe new home in Kharkiv region. We even got him a shelter thanks to support from Purina! 🐕

55 13

Just before the big storms hit Gaza, I spent time in some of the displacement camps where we have been delivering tarps, fresh food and hygiene supplies. I tried to record this video to show you what it’s like, and the kids really wanted to join in so it might be hard to hear. 🥹

29 6

Update from the Mawasi camps in Gaza, where we’ve been helping with shelter, hygiene kits & fresh food. These aren’t just tents—families are building homes out of tarps and trying to create some normalcy. Their apartments & houses are destroyed, so this is all they have now.

26 6

Ukraine Food Train 🚂 team watching Russian drone attacks in Kharkiv last night as they prepared 🦃 for a special Thanksgiving meal today. All this talk about Russia wanting peace is nonsense. They could end this war whenever they wanted by simply stopping.

25 7

The homeless cats are very excited this morning as Denis arrived to refill the Hachiko feeding station in Chornobaivka 😻 This is next to the destroyed Kherson airport, and we have to move fast to avoid Russian drones.

57 8

Watch the Ukrainian cats come running after the Hachiko team refilled the feeding station in Pyatykhatky, a town not far from where Russia blew up the Nova Kakhovka dam. 🐈 🐈‍⬛ This area was previously occupied and remains dangerous for residents.

47 13

The 🇺🇦 Food Train 🚂 had a visitor today! Grateful to the Ukrainian Railways team for their non-stop courageous work. The train is still cooking thousands of meals every day, often under fire in the Kharkiv region. The Iron People are unbreakable.

42 13

Pirate here lost his leg during Russian occupation, so he’s still skeptical of people. But he always comes to greet the Hachiko team when we deliver food to his village. Ukrainian dogs & cats have seen the worst, yet remain so kind.
