BIG DEMONSCHOOL UPDATE! We've added: - more clubhouse dialog - unlockable friendship dialog - full mouse control! - text log - grammar pass on main story - New Game Plus that lets you carry over everything from a past playthrough! - loads of fixes! patch notes: store.steampowered.com/news/app/190...
Demonschool Devlog 4: Audio! We discuss our approach to music and sound, and how we tried to use both to support some of the themes and structures in the game. Demonschool available now! store.steampowered.com/app/1900250/... store.playstation.com/en-us/concep... www.nintendo.com/us/store/pro...
Demonschool devlog 3! In this one we discuss how we tried to weave the structural and theoretical concept of "school" throughout the game without making time management a core mechanic. store.steampowered.com/app/1900250/... store.playstation.com/en-us/concep... www.nintendo.com/us/store/pro...
There is no leveling up in Demonschool. Instead the player earns class credits from battle which are used to study techniques. These techniques change how characters play - for example Aina, who passes through enemies, can equip a technique that lets her drop poison across her entire attack path.
Note to devs: Yarn Spinner is great for getting dialog up and running fast, controlling portraits and poses, but we also extended it to script our sprite-based cutscenes. After a programmer set up flags a non-technical person made this whole cutscene in yarn. It's only $50 and you own it forever.
Keen viewers will note the return of our pseudo 3D driving game Oh, Deer! - we've ported the alpha (which has been unavailable for years) to Demonschool as an unlockable minigame. Your requests have been (partially) answered! (note: this is an old trailer - it is not "out now" on PlayStation Mobile)
