There is no leveling up in Demonschool. Instead the player earns class credits from battle which are used to study techniques. These techniques change how characters play - for example Aina, who passes through enemies, can equip a technique that lets her drop poison across her entire attack path.

Attention colorblind folks: we're working on it! Demonschool has a lot of red-on-reddish and yellow-on-greenish situations in battle, so we've adjusted our selection grid to allow different color schemes. We will have a selection of the most common variants from the main menu.

Note to devs: Yarn Spinner is great for getting dialog up and running fast, controlling portraits and poses, but we also extended it to script our sprite-based cutscenes. After a programmer set up flags a non-technical person made this whole cutscene in yarn. It's only $50 and you own it forever.

Here's what movement tiles looked like before the change - they popped automatically and felt a lot more static. with the change, the UI moves in the directions that the player can move, giving a subtle hint of directional possibility.

A tiny thing but we updated our UI - danger tiles (the red lines) now have motion to help with visibility, and we also added a proliferation to the movement (orange), sidestep (blue), and attack (red) indicator tiles to give a better sense of directionality. It's subtle stuff but it helps!
