Cody Freeman connects for his first base-hit of the season with that patented oppo swing. Rangers getting a ton of new energy injected into the lineup later this week, but it starts with Freeman tonight.

Making his MLB debut, Robby Ahlstrom strikes out José Fermin to begin what will hopefully be a long and prosperous career. He’d later go on to complete a 1-2-3 inning. Those family reactions are everything man. Congrats, Robby!

Tough spot for Cody Freeman to get his first MLB at-bat in 2026 as he fans on three straight pitches in a big RBI spot in the 6th. Alejandro Osuna probably doesn’t fare much better if we’re being honest.

10 baserunners through 4 IP is generally not good, but it’s almost impressive that Gore has allowed that much traffic while only yielding 3 ER. Rangers very fortunate to have two off-days incoming in the next 5 days. Saving grace seeing that Gore is already at 83 pitches.

Make that TWO web gems for Brandon Nimmo on the evening! Cards may want to try the other side of the field at this point…

Massive insurance run for the Rangers as Josh Jung gets Higgy home on an RBI sac fly. Beautiful things can happen when you simply put the ball in play man. Been lacking too much from this offense the last two seasons. Rangers now lead 4-2.

There’s absolutely no way they can play Evan Carter over this guy when Wyatt Langford returns. Alejandro Osuna comes through with the go-ahead RBI single with two outs to give the Rangers a 3-2 lead over the Cardinals.

Joctober came early. Pederson delivers a clutch two-out RBI double, his 2nd of the ballgame, to even the score in the 5th.

If Evan Carter just put the ball on the ground every single time, he’d be in an infinitely better place than he is now.

Lopez has contributed well in his time with the Rangers. Can’t imagine he sticks once Seager is ready (unless Texas is willing to DFA Haggerty), but this is a great audition for him for later in the season when another club has a need.

Remember this sequence when we’re upset deGrom only goes 5 innings tonight.

Josh Jung’s defensive fall-off in 2026 needs to be studied. For all the positives he’s doing at the plate, the glove has been very bad this season.

MacKenzie Gore has been absolutely dealing tonight despite an ugly road ERA this season. The Rangers southpaw notches back-to-back strikeouts of both Neto and Trout with the filthy curveball he has going today.

Swaggerty with a phenomenal play to prevent extra bases with two outs in the 5th. The amount of ground he had to cover here was ridiculous.

The power of the ABS challenge on full display as a 2-1 count turns to a 1-2 count on Neto, who strikes out on the very next pitch. Credit to Jansen who’s been tentative on challenges at times this season.

Jake Burger making up for missed opportunities last night with a big solo shot in the 2nd to get the Rangers on the board.

Alejandro Osuna went 3-for-3, and the Rangers still took the bat out of his hands in the biggest spot of a 5-2 loss. That is not the whole story. Texas also wasted three bases-loaded chances. Still feels like the same fair question: Why pull Osuna? #TexasRangers #MLB

West Coast Higgy strikes again. The California kid does nothing but rake on these road trips. It’s 3-2 Angels after that Kyle Higashioka HR brings the Rangers within one.

Make that two Rangers that got off the plane from Colorado as Brandon Nimmo nukes one to dead center to get Texas on the board.

deGrom is nearly unplayable at Angel Stadium at this point. In his last 13.1 IP at this ballpark, he’s allowed a staggering 14 ER.

Plays like this make me feel less alone in the universe.

Rangers are one of the best teams in baseball when it comes to successful challenges. This was not one of them. Evan Carter with a brutal waste of a challenge early in this ballgame.

Josh Jung’s at-bat looked cooked, then baseball got weird. The passed ball reset the whole thing, and Jung cashed it in with the go-ahead single. The #TexasRangers badly needed that one.

I sure hope this version of Foscue travels. The Rangers 2B collects his 6th hit of the series as Texas look to rally back as they trail the Rockies 4-3 in the 7th.

After his HR in the 4th, Jake Burger saves two runs with a brilliant, diving stop to help Jack Leiter escape a laborious inning of work.

Forget hottest second basemen. Ezequiel Duran may just be the hottest hitter in the game right now. He now has 15 RBI in his last 15 games with a .995 OPS.

Haggerty back from the dead with this double in the 2nd. Feels like he hadn’t gotten a hit since Spring Training where he was raking practically every other AB.

After allowing a run in the 1st, Jack Leiter strikes out the side in the 2nd.

Rocker adjusting well as a reliever tonight, but truth be told, I hope he’s insulted by Skip’s opener plan. What SP wants a 1st inning babysitter? Credit to the Rangers skipper for carving out a likely W, but I’d love to see Rock take this personal.

Over the last two weeks, no 2B in the league has been more productive than Ezequiel Duran. Zeke leads all AL second baseman with 12 RBI over his last 14 games and is tied with Bryson Stott for the ML lead over that span.

Brandon Nimmo in the three hole may need to stick for awhile.

Ezequiel Duran atones for his rough night in the field on Monday with a two-run double in the 1st! Rangers are 17-3 when they draw first blood this season. It’s 2-0 Texas early.

Foscue gave the #TexasRangers the kind of night you want from a young bat. The Rangers still walked out needing one more swing. That 7-6 loss was not a lack-of-chances game. It was another missed opportunity wearing a rally costume.

It would appear that this was NOT the play that caused MacKenzie Gore to exit the game after just one inning today. Left lat tightness is the word on the street.

The Skip Schumaker reset is apparently undefeated as Jake Burger adds to his RBI total with a scorching 110 mph double to double up the Rangers lead in the 7th. Burger has now driven in all four Texas runs this afternoon and continues to rake in the aftermath of his benching last weekend.

This is exactly what you need from your ace when a series has already gone sideways. Clearly, Eovaldi understood the assignment: 6 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 7 K. And he’s only at 72 pitches.

Don’t look now, but Rangers 1B Jake Burger is now 7 for his last 20, good for a .350 average with a 1.085 OPS. Texas could desperately use more of this from Burgatron.

For all the defensive regression we’ve seen from the Rangers this season, RF hasn’t missed a beat. Brandon Nimmo with an incredible play to rob Yordan Alvarez of a HR.

Truly a sight for sore eyes. Evo fans Alvarez, and Higgy cuts down the runner at 2B to complete the strike em out throw em out.

Evan Carter is a tough conversation right now. The glove, speed, walks, and approach still give him a real path back. But the bat has not done enough damage, and the 2023 glow cannot carry the 2026 version forever. Leody 2.0 may be harsh, but it is also becoming a fair fear. #TexasRangers

This guy needs to be option no. 1 when we need a rotation spot filled. Cal Quantrill has been a completely different pitcher since his dominant start for Team Canada vs. Cuba in the WBC.

Just when you thought you’d seen every possible way the Rangers could blow it with runners on base, they dig deep down in that bag and give you a new one.

I better never see us participate in an anthem standoff again. deGrom’s kryptonite rears its ugly head early, as he allows yet another HR to a lefty bat to double up the Astros lead in the 1st.

This is fine.

One hit owns the headline. But the #TexasRangers also lost the details: bunt, baserunning, review weirdness, back-pick chance, ABS moment. Leiter gave them a game. Texas made it ugly.

Ezequiel Duran just making it look effortless out there tonight. Not an easy play by any means, but apparently it’s just another routine ground ball for Zeke.

Man, this better not end up being the play that saved the no-hitter.

Take away the Paredes HR, and Leiter has been flawless through nearly four innings of work. Problem is Spencer Arrighetti is working on a no-hitter at the moment.

Houston’s whole brand has been “inevitable.” This version? 17-28. Worst team ERA in baseball. Still dangerous enough to punish you if you get cute. That’s why this Silver Boot series matters. Texas has to stop playing the Astros myth and beat the 2026 team standing there. #TexasRangers #MLB

Paul Sewald blowing another 5-3 lead in Arlington is the funny part. The better part? Texas’ top three went 0-for-12, and the 6-through-9 spots still drove in every Rangers run. That is a lineup getting heavier. #TexasRangers

I stand corrected.

Peyton Gray continues to impress, getting two huge outs to limit the damage in a bases loaded jam. The Rangers rookie continues to impress as he preserves the Texas lead headed to the bottom of the 7th.

Jake Burger doing it all tonight with a beautiful backhanded stop to prevent more runs in the 6th.

Burger flexing the raw power with this oppo taco down the line to give the Rangers a 3-0 lead in the 5th. Huge AB! You can’t help but wonder if the reset he got over the weekend is going to have the same effect as Jung’s did in Baltimore.

Can we please stop trying to retire Corey Seager from SS? Dude almost won a Gold Glove last season, and he shows why on this incredible play to end the Dbacks threat in the 1st.
