On the last day of Black Maternal Health Week, I’m reminding folks that the fight for maternal health does not end. The fight continues until all Black women are safe, supported, and taken seriously before, during, and long after pregnancy.

Black women deserve to be heard, protected, and cared for with dignity. The Black maternal health crisis is real, and too many lives are at risk because our healthcare system continues to fail Black mothers. I’ve been working in Congress for nearly a decade to fix it.
