All 50 state constitutions have ways to help the people overcome gerrymandering. Here's how in Virginia: retire the state Supreme Court. Virginia's Article VI gives the Assembly the power to set the retirement age of the Court. Dismiss them, and the voter-approved redistricting map can be law again.

To combat gerrymandering, fight fire with fire. The Virginia Supreme Court struck down the citizen initiative for a new Congressional map. The legislature can fight back. Here I describe Quinn Yeargin's idea to use the state constitution to retire that court:
