The Tweeter Quartett present: Magical Sound Shower by Hiroshi Kawaguchi The MS-DOS port of Outrun had monophonic PC-Speaker sound only and VERY shortened versions of the original compositions. Ported too early. You are listening to four instances of Cakewalk 5.0 on DOS.

Sid Meier's Civilization - Windows version (1993) This version offered a higher resolution - as much as your graphic card allowed with Win3.1, which typically was 800x600 or 1024x786 with SVGA drivers. Alas, at least in my opinion, not as pretty as the original. Not to mention the responsiveness.

Minesweeper Amongst the first widespread programs to make use of the right-click in Windows 3.X (which didn't have context menus - no right click at all). Some claim Minesweeper was used as a playful tutorial on purpose. Another example would be Solitaire using drag & drop.

Magic: The Gathering (aka Shandalar) MicroProse 1997 This is a non playable demo from 1995 running on DOS, showing an early stage of development...a full release for DOS was announced. But it took two more years (and Sid Meier) to finish the game and it was released on Win95 eventually.
