Our current waste system is not working. We need to pass PRRIA to save taxpayers $1B annually, remove toxic chemicals and improve recycling.

During Police Appreciation Week, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of those who serve and protect our communities. Their professionalism and commitment to our safety makes a difference every day.

Municipalities and taxpayers shouldn’t be footing the bill for the flood of plastic and packaging waste generated every day. I joined AM Deborah Glick and @beyondplastics.bsky.social to call for passage of PRRIA to cut toxic chemicals, reduce waste, and save residents money.

Solar is the fastest energy source to scale up, as well as the cheapest to build. Why wait 7-10 years for natural gas startups or 15-20 years for nuclear startups when we can save NYers $1B a year with the ASAP Act? Let’s stop all the nonsense and get this done.

As people get their news from a wider range of sources, elected leaders need to meet them where they are. Yesterday we welcomed dozens of climate content creators to the Capitol to discuss policy and the CLCPA.

Big business is spending big money against me and my colleagues who are standing up for NY’s climate law. They know the climate law is popular, so they must oppose it every way they can.

NY’s aging gas infrastructure and nuclear plants will require tens of billions to maintain.   We should be investing in resilient infrastructure that saves money and improves public health, not doubling down on a system that does the opposite.
