The Prime Minister knew of Mandelson's friendship with Epstein but chose to appoint him anyway. As @elliechowns.bsky.social said yesterday: "What is unforgiveable is that he was more concerned with pandering to Donald Trump than with standing with the victims and survivors." He must resign.

A month on and the Prime Minister is fighting for his survival on a technicality. But the serious moral failure of appointing Mandelson - despite all that was known back then - was already a resigning issue.

This week I’ve been challenging the Govt’s sinister attempts to abolish the right to choose a jury trial. Here is the Minister confirming that the right to elect a jury trial IS being completely abolished with this Bill! A fundamental cornerstone of our justice system established in 1670: gone.

The Chancellor had a lot to say to me about Greens today, but still could not admit that Labour is leaving over 200,000 children to suffer by keeping the overall benefit cap in place.

☀️Sunshine really is the best disinfectant. For too long royal FOI exemptions have allowed royal power to act in the shadows, and conceal important truths from MPs, the press, and the public. They must be removed to tackle this systemic corruption.

Why should communication involving the royals be exempt from Freedom of Information requests? It really is one rule for the rich and powerful, and one rule for the rest of us. I intend to work with other MPs to close this outrageous royal transparency loophole.

The Govt should have scrapped the two child benefit cap 19 months ago, but failed to do so. It could have listened to families enduring the overall benefit who will see no benefit because of it, but failed to do so. It could have helped every child in poverty, but failed to do so.

As I said on R4 at the weekend... Labour Together's hiring of a PR firm to smear journalists is sinister and chilling. It speaks of the utter moral corruption of this Labour project.

A government enthralled to men and corporations drunk on power is the rot at the centre of the Mandelson scandal. Of all seven of the Nolan principles, openness can help build back the most trust. Every MP, like me, should release logs of all lobbying meetings.

We need a UK Digital Sovereignty Strategy! Our over-reliance on foreign tech giants is a huge risk to our security and resilience when faced with Donald Trump’s ever increasing belligerence. Companies like Palantir have no place in our critical digital infrastructure.

Scrapping the two child limit is not enough. The overall benefit cap must go too. The Government's own assessment shows at least 200,000 children in poverty will not be helped if only the two-child limit is removed. This cruel legacy of austerity must finally end.

The incarceration of people for months and years without trial for offences that are in essence political has no place in a democracy like ours. And in case it needed saying Greens oppose BOTH the increasing criminalisation of protest AND the removal of jury trials!

Grateful for the cross-party debate on dangerous proposals from Govt to scrap jury trials. Did my best to encourage Conservatives in the debate to own up to their role in creating the dire mess our courts are in, but got a very poor response.

Greens welcome #GreatBritishRailways but what about rolling stock? ROSCOs paid £275m in dividends to shareholders last year - a huge drain on public finances! I urge the Government to find ways to bring our rolling stock into public hands.

The Justice Secretary is not considering: Jury trials guard against tyranny for offences against the state or corporations. Risk of politicising decisions leading to attacks on women and minoritised judges.

Ella's Law, which would make breathing #cleanair a human right, will not likely have its second reading next week. Yesterday I asked if the Government will make more time in Parliament for this vital Bill to be debated and made law.

The BBC needs defending - from outside forces like President Trump and his propaganda values, and from current and future political appointments to its Board within. I raised these huge risks to our national asset with the Culture Secretary this week:

This Government is threatening to blow our carbon budget just to fuel Heathrow’s greedy business model. Instead it should be listening to the people who want their bills cut, their water in public hands, and their homes made safe and warm.
