The Tús Programme offers 12-month community work placements for people unemployed 12+ months and on Jobseeker’s Allowance. In South Tipperary, it is managed by STDC, providing 19.5-hour roles in environmental, caring, and educational services with a top-up payment. More info stdc.ie/tus-programme/
Fantastic Saturday of teamwork and community Pride! Maryna and Lievon, Tús participants with Clogheen Tidy Towns, joined their Team Leader and volunteers from Clogheen and Ballylooby for a litter pick along the Clogheen-Ballylooby Road, collecting a trailer full of rubbish, followed by tea & snacks.
Saint Brigid's Day cross workshop at the Memory Café, Carrick-on-Suir Library, led by Leigh Dowling. With support from the Lions Club, there was laughter, shared stories and handmade crosses. This event was co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union. #Euinmyregion #Eufundsireland
Viktoriia's time with the TÚS Programme has come to an end. Over 12 months, she studied four historic Clonmel churches: Old St Mary's The Friary, Marlfield and St Patrick's Well, and shared their history with the Ukrainian community. She thoroughly enjoyed the programme and recommends it to others.
