Some quick arithmetic: 300,000 of 5,000,000 is 6%. 400,000 of 5,000,000 is 8%. Now, stop whatever you're doing, give your collective heads a shake, and start working on healthcare, education, and affordability. ๐Ÿ˜ค Everything else: tied for second to last. Last place? Those ๐Ÿคฌ boots. | ๐Ÿ

Don't get me wrong, I love a Bell 212 as much as anybodyโ€”particularly that cinematic soundโ€”but I think we can also agree the real star of this video is that sky, don't you think? The mountains are also pretty nice. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Captured at Springbank last week. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿš ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ | ๐Ÿ”— lrhelicopters.com/aircraft/?ut...

I've always had a soft spot for the Duke and its 'mini-airliner' lines, particularly in profile. The elegant livery and the logo 'B' on the tail accentuate these characteristics on this particular example, spotted at Springbank yesterday. Oh, and then there's *that sound.* | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Seems about right. (๐Ÿ“น 'The Rocketeer' via Yarn)

And they have these whizzy knitting machines that are processing alpaca fibre into knit fabrics. Alberta and Quebec teaming up on a great product; does it get any more Canadian than that? | ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ“น | ๐Ÿงต 2/2 | ๐Ÿ”— dristex.com/so/fdPszCGSO...

A rare treat at Springbank yesterday. This grande dame is looking pretty darned good for any age, let alone seventy-four years young. But the real star of the show is โ€ฆ *that sound*. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ โš”๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Hi @toddzwillich.bsky.social : I don't know if this is an acceptable way to submit an entry to this week's @wamu.org 1A News Quiz, but the answer is, of course, a reading from the Book of Genesis. This really resonated with me, so I made this short video tribute back in December of 2020.

A very nice @io-aerospace.bsky.social Gates Learjet 35A, registration N51NW, takes off from runway 17 at Springbank Airport this afternoon. Perhaps the flight was to test out their new RSM 300mm Shutterless Lens optical system? | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ | ๐Ÿงต 1/2 | ๐Ÿ”— io-aerospace.com/io-aerospace...

So, @nba.com All-Star this weekend. | ๐Ÿ€ (๐Ÿ“น Seinfeld)

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world. ๐Ÿคช But there's always planespotting. Or in this case, helicopterspotting at Springbank on a Sunday afternoon. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Well, I think they look great! So far as yogurt-based pizza dough, that sounds really interesting. We're always into exploring new planets ๐Ÿช in the pizzaverse. | ๐Ÿ•

Things are finally winding down for the holiday, so there was time for a mid-week trip to Springbank. Managed to capture this tidy Cessna Citation CJ2 departing for warmer climes. I do like it when a pilot, like this one, taxis with purpose. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Hey, @talkhoops.bsky.social: based on last night's fixtures, at least, the @nba.com Cup games seem to be taking on a distinctly All-Star, all-uncontested offense, no-defense vibe. Thoughts? ๐Ÿค” Or maybe it's just me. ๐Ÿคก | ๐Ÿ€

At first, Iโ€™m thinking it would be a little spooky having it back there, wouldnโ€™t it? ๐Ÿ˜ณ That said, itโ€™s not a lot different than more conventional designs like the Lake Amphibian, for example.

Amongst the gaggle of 172s chugging around the circuit today at Springbank, there was this very unusual sighting: a Seawind 3000, which its manufacturer bills as ยซ world's fastest amphibious aircraft. ยป It certainly seemed quite spry on departure. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿฆ† ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ | ๐Ÿ”— seawindaero.com?utm_source=t...

Look who's back in town: the 2Solitude 'Airshow Camper' conversion of an Antonov AN-2 captured yesterday at Springbank. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿฆ† ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ | ๐Ÿ”— www.2solitude.com

Hey, NBC Sports: just so you know, the fans at the Ryder Cup are rendering your coverage unwatchable. | ๐Ÿคก

If the exquisite 'Praetor 500' in my previous Springbank post represents one end of the General Aviation spectrum, then this 'Bird Dog' likely represents the other; the one warbird I would have a fighting chance of flying with my measly ~100 hours of flight experience. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“น โš”๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

An unexpected visit from an Embraer 'Praetor 500' at Springbank yesterday afternoon. Turns out it was simply waiting for an empty slot at CYYC, so they could reposition when one was available later in the evening. So question for Air Sprint, the aircraft's operator: when โ€ฆ | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ | ๐Ÿงต 1/3

Okay, so this is the first time seeing one of these at Springbank: a Game Aerospace GB1 'GameBird'. You'll definitely want to turn the sound up for this one. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

The 'Turbine Legend' flies! Back at the beginning of July, the first flight was imminent, and now it's already part of this magnificent aircraft's history. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ | ๐Ÿงต 1/2

This magic carpet (also known as a TBM 900) had just arrived from Kelowna yesterday afternoon at Springbank. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

I usually post this video on Christmas Eve, but with the sad news of naval aviator, test pilot, and astronaut Jim Lovell having gone west, it's entirely appropriate to post it today. This world very much needs more Jim Lovell, not less. | ๐ŸŒŽ ๐Ÿš€ ๐ŸŒ–

Looks like fun: a nice Cessna 185 amphib heads for the active at Springbank today, and then departs seemingly for some test flying out near Sundre. Also, my first chance to try out my new Manfrotto monopod recently purchased from the helpful folks at @thecamerastoreinc.bsky.socialโ€ฌ. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿฆ† ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

A very nice Eclipse EA500 on the taxiway at Springbank this past weekend. With its T-tail, twin engines, straight wings, and tip tanks, it reminds me of a baby Learjet. | ๐Ÿ›ฉ๏ธ ๐Ÿ“น ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ
