@mrjamesob.bsky.social @lbc.co.uk Johnson and Farage sought to game their Putin pleasing Brexit. Farage withdrew his candidates from 317 constituencies where Conservatives were the favoured candidates in 2019 GE. Trump made obvious reference to this in this video from Farage’s show at the time.

History will swipe left on Zuckerman, whose Facebook platform was used by Cambridge Analytica to harvest data on millions of people and build psychological profiles, promising to target voters with tailored political messages.Steve Bannon sat at the heart of both Cambridge Analytica and Breitbart.

Farage said to the European Parliament “you’re not laughing now” when the Putin pleasing Brexit vote was confirmed: The thing is no one was laughing - Russian echoing politics was never a laughing matter.

Well that’s a relief: There’s no recorded evidence Nigel “spear fished” Farage has ever visited * MI6/MOD intelligence facilities * nuclear submarine bases * GCHQ-linked defence sites * classified procurement or operational centres * COBR/MOD war-planning facilities Prospective Prime Minister??!!

“Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive”

The tangled web. Spear fished - or gill caught?

Awkward times for Farage: Spear fished by Russia he says? His beloved media may yet be his undoing. “Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive”

“Trump appeared to signal prior awareness of a Johnson–Farage electoral alignment in 2019, praising them as an ‘unstoppable force’. Shortly afterwards, the Brexit Party withdrew from 317 Tory-held seats — a pivotal moment in the election.”

Your children enjoying the benefits of Farage and Putin’s Brexit. It’s criminal.

16 16

That’s really interesting, because Russian Ambassador Yakovenko (the one Farage lied about not meeting below) got a reward for Brexit as well. It was called the Alexandr Nevsky medal, and was presented to him by Vladimir Putin. Strange old world.

A masterly analysis from Gary Gibbon C4. Burnham has a far from easy path to Downing Street. He faces the need for the NEC to grant him time to have his by-election. He then needs to win what is likely to be a high Reform risk constituency. The bond markets may wobble. Starmer isn’t out quite yet.

Watch and enjoy: Nadine Dorries tries to whitewash Farage's receipt of £5million from the crypto billionaire Harborne. @itvpeston.bsky.social is reduced to scornful laughter as she tries to defend the indefensible. Dorries doesn't see a problem and @pippacrerar.bsky.social has to gently educate her.

The European Parliament Partnership Bill: Gives powers to the government to fulfill treaty obligations in the EU where it “serves the national interest” and a “power to extend the application of the bill to new treaties with the EU in future.” Farage won’t like this, nor will Putin or Nathan Gill.

Begs the question about just how much more Trump knew about the sordid deal between Farage and Johnson (Farage withdrawing 317 candidates where Tories favourites to win). Did he know about matters relevant to the current threatened litigation? Hubristic sharing in the clear between Farage and Trump?

Time for grown up politics: @skinnock.bsky.social and @pronouncedalva.bsky.social explain to @vicderbyshire.bsky.social why Starmer believes it would be wrong of him to go now - after he’s sensibly kept us out of Iran war and is starting to repair our economic and security relationship with Europe.

3 2

Putin, 5millionFarage, Labour ambitionistas and unserious people want him to go. There was a time he should have gone (after his Gaza/Ferrari interview). But this is madness. It was local elections FFS! War in Iran, a need to positively re-engage with Europe. Country before party. Cut the self harm.

@Channel4news reports on Putin’s weakening grip on power as Ukraine hits Russia deep in its own territory. Imagine the hold that Putin would have had over Nathan Gill if our security services hadn’t taken him out. Relax - he’s gone. The question is - how credible is it that he was the only one?

Starmer is wrong - Brexit went completely according to plan - the problem is that it was Putin’s plan.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social @lbc.co.uk asks “Why didn’t you say the stuff about the single market 2years ago - why didn’t you say the stuff about the heart of Europe 2 yrs ago - why didn’t you say the stuff about Farage being a grifter and a chancer 2yrs ago?” Always better late than never.
