On 4 June 2026, Owens appeared at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum as a prop. For the first 50 minutes she was barely acknowledged, and when she finally got to speak, she promoted her book and praised Russia. Her handler must have been pleased. 20/21

Owens has also engaged publicly with Russian fascist Aleksandr Dugin, a leading advocate of Russian imperialism, and is now attending the same event as him. Dugin has repeatedly called for the destruction of Ukrainian statehood and for confrontation with the US and Europe. 18/21

Russian media frequently presents Owens as proof that “trad” Americans are turning against Ukraine and rejecting support for Kyiv. Her statements regularly appear across state-controlled outlets and pro-Kremlin media ecosystems. 17/21

Throughout the war, Owens consistently argued against military aid to Ukraine and portrayed the conflict as a corrupt scheme benefiting politicians, defense companies, and unnamed global elites, the usual “they”. 11/21

Her unhinged claims ranged from Putin being better than Western leaders, to Western media being more propagandistic than Russian media, to Ukraine supposedly “not existing until 1989.” Video courtesy of @themilkbartv.bsky.social (do follow them!). 9/21

In both cases, the aggressors rely on the West’s passivity: they pull up irrelevant claims or rewrite history, craft narratives to justify their war without calling it a war, spread that propaganda through bot and troll farms, and numb our resolve to confront them. 15/20

It's on video.

For years to come, we will see monuments and statues erected for these “victims”, who in reality were soldiers from Russia’s elite Rubicon drone military unit. This was a big loss for the Kremlin, and now they are trying to gain something from it. 13/13

Russia also employs teenagers to build its war machine. A drone factory or unit is a legitimate military target, but when Russia hires 15-year-olds to build drones, it also creates an opportunity for propaganda once these facilities are hit by Ukraine. 12/13

The fake genocide was touted as one of the main reasons for Russia’s war during the early stages of the full-scale invasion, and the claim was made even by Putin himself. Before his mutiny, late Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin said that all this was fabricated bullshit. 3/13

And here’s another clip of Varoufakis going with the preposterous lie that “the Russian language was banned in Ukraine in 2014”. Like, how hard is it to fact-check this stuff? Or just ask any Ukrainian...?

that or the carrot diet 😀

Deliberately targeting civilians is a war crime and terrorism, and Russia has been doing that from the start. MH17 is an early example. They have also been using state-funded terrorist organizations like Wagner, and in fact they often boast about their acts of terrorism. 4/8

Russia started the war in 2014 by seizing Crimea with unmarked soldiers, the “little green men”. Russians have been waging an undeclared, illegal war with endless war crimes ever since, whether it’s the kidnapping of Ukrainian children with genocidal intent… 2/8 bsky.app/profile/vatn...

Yeah, about that...
