getting kind of excited over the movement tech, wanted to try a trick that exists with grappling in titanfall2/apex, and turns out you can also slingshot in deadzone! i might make a movement tech video at some point walking players through, since i've found a bunch

was working on a mantling system earlier, got it to a state where you can hold onto a ledge then jump off or climb up, the detection could be better but oh well still need to work on a proper player model to get the hands in the viewmodel, but it's functionally there. #godot #gamedev #solodev

been doing todos / bug squashing today, got map (and mode) switching working from the lobby config and properly being synchronized! in an ongoing match the settings get stored for the next match, but when preparing the match data is completely overridden #godot #gamedev #solodev #indiedev

finally introduced better texture loading in the map builder, so now they can be categorized and pull textures from subdirectories. #godot #godotengine #solodev #indiedev

finally implemented gamemode driven lobby config presets, so now you can select a mode and have the "recommended" settings. still need to work on in-match configuration, but i'd rather finish this part first.
