Headed to Kendleton for the dedication of the African American Heritage Monument and Park, a tribute to the descendants of formerly enslaved people who founded one of Texas’s first Freedmen’s towns. One of my favorite parts of traveling across Texas is learning the stories of communities like this.

Book recommendation: “Star Spangled Jesus” by April Ajoy. She grew up with a dad who was a Pastor in an evangelical church, but started asking questions. She discovered what Christian Nationalism is and writes about her discovery. Always question and keep learning!
