I think someone already said this but Ku Feng gets you 400 movies, from 1960-2015, about 200 of which are absolute classics. Half the Shaw Brothers catalogue, dramas, musicals, action, Chinese Ghost Story 2, John Woo, Tsui Hark, Jackie Chan

I thought Nosferatu was kind of boring and a retread of previous versions of the same story, and a big disappointment given the talented cast and crew, but the trailer syncs up perfectly to George Michael's I Want Your Sex

Heroes Among Heroes is annoying and boring, until the last 15 minutes, when all out insanity ensues. Almos, just about worth it.

Legend of the Liquid Sword (Dir: Yeung Wai-Yip, Wong Jing, Action Dir: Lau Shung-Fung) If you can suffer through some pretty lame comedy, there's some pretty spectacular action to be seen in this early Aaron Kwok starrer. Let's rock with the Kwok!

Yes, the moment when they replaced him with an action figure, who might have been able to out-act him...

I've watched a bunch of Michele Reis movies in the last month or two. I am saving Round About Midnight, Chinese Ghost Story II, Fallen Angels. Those are S-tier, break glass in case of emergency movies. I'm digging deep into the WEEDS. And it gave me Bakery Amour, which was rad. Worth it.

Anyway The Kid Detective is among the best films of the 21st century, it might be the best, on a given day.

Is the star system a bit arbitrary and useless? Yes. But I have given The Seventh Curse and Sanjuro both 5 stars. One might be considered low art, one high art, but do I like them more or less equally? Yes. But Seventh Curse a bit more. It's a 5.1 star movie.

I made the wild statement to my friend earlier that The Kid Detective might be the best film of the 21st century. Then I looked through the 2000s films I had given 5 stars to on Letterboxd. Are Carter, Decision to Leave, The Shadow Strays, So Close, Parasite all approx. as good as each other? Yes.

For a period in the late 80s and early 90s it was mandatory for any movie starring Wu Ma to have him play a rapping martial arts master. Here he is in Fox Legend, with some funky beats and some of the greatest lyrics of all time

As suspected, Cyprus Tigers is juvenile, offensive and deeply stupid. However it does feature some banger action, mostly in the last 10 minutes. Called it.
