Proud to speak up for our veterans in Parliament 🏛️ This week I supported New Clause 12, a Lib Dem amendment to the Armed Forces Bill, to create a dedicated Veterans' Mental Health Oversight Officer in law.

Yesterday I spoke in the Health Bill debate to raise serious concerns about the proposed abolition of Healthwatch.

Yesterday was a big day. I attended the King’s Speech to hear about the plans for the next Parliamentary session and then I caught up with ITV regional news about what it all means for North East Hampshire 🎥✨

For Deaf Awareness Week this week, I wanted to highlight an amazing session the Women and Equalities select committee had with senior representatives from the BSL Advisory Board and the British Deaf Association.

Let's clear something up. Some political opponents have been spreading misinformation about my voting record this week. I was absent from Westminster due to personal circumstances, something Parliament's system does not reflect.

By the Government's own estimations, investing in women-led companies could unlock a whopping £250 billion in economic growth. Something we all need right now. So if women entrepreneurs are an untapped engine for economic growth, why isn't the Government treating them like one?

💧 An update on water, one of my top priorities in Westminster and something residents across North East Hampshire raise with me constantly. I've seen the sewage gushing into our rivers with my own eyes. Fish dying. Waterways polluted. Communities let down. 😤

A day in the life of an MP in the constituency 🎬 I often get asked what I get up to in North East Hampshire when I'm not in Westminster. This day was a good example.

🏡 Rural households shouldn't be penalised just for where they live. I spoke in Parliament today about the real cost facing families across North East Hampshire: higher bills, lower energy efficiency, and a £987 fuel poverty gap compared to urban households. I'm calling on the Government to act.

The Netflix doc has everyone talking about the manosphere, and rightly so. It's influencing a generation of young men and having negative impacts on men and women. As your MP and a member of the Women and Equalities Select Committee, I've been pushing for answers on what's driving this.

Today in Parliament was the International Women’s Day debate. To be surrounded by so many brilliant women, in a room so rich with history, was a powerful reminder of how far we have come. It wasn’t long ago that women couldn’t stand for Parliament or even vote. But we still have a long way to go.

🛜 In this day and age, nobody should be without broadband. We rely on it to stay in touch with our families, run our businesses and access healthcare - you name it. 📡 This means that reliable access to the internet is essential, and yet our local broadband is far from reliable.

The highlights from a very busy last 2 weeks as your MP:

(1) Appeasement doesn't work with bullies like Trump; it just encourages them to push for more and more. America is not behaving like an ally – we need reliable, respectable partners, not a childish narcissist who throws his toys out of the pram whenever he's told no.

🎉 Campaign Win! 💧 Protection for chalk stream rivers has been a key campaign and I've called for this many times. So I'm pleased the Government is introducing this.

(1/2) The budget has left businesses high and dry. One way we can grow the economy and get better public services without raising taxes on working people would be to forge a new UK-EU customs union.

🗓 This Saturday 6th December is Small Business Saturday. 🚗 There will be no charge to park in Council-run car parks across North East Hampshire all day. 🎁 This is a perfect opportunity to visit some local businesses, especially if you have some Christmas shopping to do.

An update on Frimley Park Hospital:

We've come a long way in politics when it comes to equal representation, and this is worth celebrating. But we're not quite there yet. Therefore, today, on #AskHerToStand Day, I'm putting out a call: if you know any women who could do some good in politics, please encourage them to get involved.

⚡High energy prices are a major issue, not just for residents trying to heat their homes, but also for small businesses which cannot reduce their energy consumption when prices go up. ❓Because of this, I asked the Minister for Energy what plans he has to support small businesses with these costs.
