Another video of this incident shows there was room for the robot to pullover to let the police car pass. Notice the robot needlessly hesitated as it neared pedestrians. Some would call this 'conservative tuning' while others can see the artificial incompetence, ie poor pedestrian understanding.
A Dallas deputy constable had to move a Waymo robot out of the way of emergency services responding to a fatal apt fire. A Waymo telop apparently tried & failed to move it. The officer's body cam video w audio of his interaction w a Waymo telop through his takeover & driving of Waymo's car to MRC:
Waymo never fixed their looping bug: Howell Mill and Collier Road, Atlanta A McDonald's drive thru & parking lot isn't an edge case. "I noticed a Waymo stuck in the drive-through at the McDonald’s across the street for over 20 minutes, it just kept circling the parking lot" OP: tiktok.dronetone_
Yet another (111+) Wrong Way Waymo, drop off in crosswalk askew a double yellow heading into oncoming traffic: W 29th St at Guadalupe St, Austin, TX "today...this Waymo dropped off 2 ppl and sit there for like 5-10 mins blocking the traffic even the pax were in shock" OP: reddit.Highway-Wonderful
Waymo's newest San Francisco lot often has more robots in it than any state except CA, AZ, or TX. They all go in/out of this one spot on Brannan St. That intersection w 5th was blocked by at least 6 failed Waymo robots during the power outage which was before the lot opened. OP: tiktok.laharihere
Waymo v Waymo: Hartford near 17th St (~half block from Market & Castro), San Francisco Hartford's wide enough for cars to pass & has many curb cuts for robots needing extra passing space, if only Waymo would/could train their robots to use them. Instead backup thru crosswalk. OP: x.VeronicaMerode
"Waymo tried to drive us right into a police standoff" OP: tiktok.restingbreeface, LA area. Do you feel lucky? How about experimental stochastic robot edge case odds controlling your life lucky? As long as there wasn't a crash to mess up the one stat they like, it doesn't seem to matter to Waymo.
Another Waymo robot screwed up in a road construction site. Dallas. This is why Waymo shutdown on fwys. Their robots frequently violate construction sites and keep going until workers stand in front of them to stop them. NHTSA investigated this but didn't make Waymo fix it. OP: tiktok.oscarito_usa
Waymo 6th gen robot, prob manually driven: I-85, Charlotte, NC Waymo's lane keeping should be ~foot to the right better than that car was traveling. Waymo robots tend to be within inches of center, or very rarely way/weirdly off, eg swerving between lanes for no reason. OP: tiktok.wcnc_charlotte
Waymo is back, in Atlanta, according to OP who wrote "I seen about 15 of them today" inc this one a bit closer & prob longer than the others. Unknown if Waymo reopened ATL ridehail service as well. Atlanta is forecast ~inch of rain starting tomorrow through the weekend. OP: tiktok.sydneysymone888
Another example of a Waymo robot forcing its way through multiple lanes of oncoming traffic to make a left turn into a corner parking lot instead of making a right turn the safe way. Melrose Ave at Vine, LA Not 'safety first' but prob not illegal, which could be Waymo's motto. OP: tiktok.artofpau
So many 'Waymo stuck in a drive thru line' videos, esp from LA & In-N-Out. Most are just one robot. Waymo robots seem to have no clue what a drive thru is or why these lines of cars exists by them, instead behaving as if it is a queue for a regular turn or stop sign or light. OP: x.FilmThePoliceLA
"One of our journalists, Rachael Knudsen, was picked up by a Waymo Wednesday evening before the autonomous car got stuck in flood waters multiple times. Uber ended up sending a replacement (human) ride, and needed to tow the Waymo." "Roadside assistance is 54 minutes away" "WHAT!" OP: ig.ajcnews
"All waymos came to a halt at central expressway. The servers must be down 🤷♂️ Earlier saw 2 different instances of cops trying to figure out what to do with the cars stopped in middle of the road" OP: reddit.crazy-cat-girl Saw claims of abrupt Waymo shutdown in south bay. This is 1st video, AFAIK.
