Most #UnpaidCarers don’t time to rest, earn or even think about their own health & well-being. In a recent episode of #PeopleFixingTheWorld on #BBCWorldService, where we were featured, our Development Director Ruth Patil shares how we’re working to change that through our #CarersWorldwideModel 👇🏽
For four years, our Ramadan project has brought together #UnpaidCarers in Savar, #Bangladesh to celebrate #Ramadan with dignity 💜🧡 This year, while the project has moved to support carers in Dinajpur, something special is happening in Savar 😊👇🏽 #Community #Inclusion #CarersWorldwide #CommitToCarers
We got the team together for our annual away day 💜🧡 As we all work from home, we enjoy these opportunities to meet in person. We looked back on 2025 & forward to 2027 & beyond. Everything we discussed came to one thing: improving support for #UnpaidCarers in LMICs. A little glimpse of the day 👇🏽
Today is #TimeToTalkDay! Many #UnpaidCarers play a vital role in their families, often without any support or recognition. That was true for Alagu. At 40, she cares for her father-in-law, who has lived with mental illness for 20 years, while also managing her household & her children’s education.
Across countries & cultures, unpaid carers describe the same reality: care becomes a constant part of daily life often w/ little guidance or support. These shared experiences were discussed on the #CareFullyConsidered podcast by @wecarecampaign.bsky.social featuring our Dev. Director Ruth Patil 💜🧡
Our Development Director, Ruth Patil, is in #Madrid right now for the #GlobalCaregiverForum, joining practitioners, academics & policymakers from across the world to talk about what #caregivers & especially from our perspective, #ParentCarers of disabled children really need. Hear more from her 👇🏽
Amutharani has spent 22+ years caring for her mother living with mental illness while raising her two children alone, running a small shop to support her family After joining our #CarersGroup through our local partner, she received a small loan that helped her expand her shop & double her income 💜🧡
This year for our #FestiveAppeal we set our biggest target ever & thanks to the generosity of our supporters it’s also been the fastest we’ve ever reached our goal 💜🧡 We’re grateful to everyone who donated, shared & cheered us on. It makes a huge impact for #UnpaidCarers & the people they care for.
