Really like Rea's use of arm control: falls back on the other side, puts herself between her opponent and the rope she's crawling to. Also ouch.

Spike was a great base, but only Iwata could pull off the pose with her hips raised (I like that they showed how the wrestlers would ask each other if they were comfortable with being touched in situations like this)

Good vibe to this show, feels more like the start of year 3 than the Ota show. Apparently some old coot fucked up a twitter post for this event and wrote Ika (squid) instead of Iwatani and everybody thinks it's the funniest shit ever. Mayu was introduced as Ika and can barely contain herself

Right now, what The Lady AI seems to struggle with the most is improvising. If she's out of position or unsure what's happening, she'll hesitate and needs time to reset. On the other hand, her feeling for how to make offense look impactful (and take it) is growing quickly. Love her dramatic spin!

I don't know if it's the slightly shorter hair but Tachibana looks yoked like she's been hitting the weights hard

Hiromi Yagi is giving Yoshida all she can handle on the ground. Little in the way of big moves and striking, both are nonstop working on attacks, traps, counters and reversals. Yagi escapes and then advances from toe hold into neck crank into rear naked choke

I don't always love the way the pin spams are worked tbh, but really liked how they turned into a contest of strength and will. Senka's just way stronger, Seri has to push so hard just to get Senka out of her bridge, and then otoh has to scramble wildly to get out from under her.

A few too many spots where everyone had to be in the ring at the same time, but they made Nyla look awesome here. After this she tossed Nao over the ropes too.

And the other two were the actual focus of the match, Tachibana and Shinno as different as they are do have more stylistic overlap

MIRAI sent a foreshadowing (and fun) message (commentary at Korakuen implied heavily that Utami in a few months would sign somewhere with good connections to Marigold, unless the "and we're happy about it" was sarcasm) (hoping for somewhere like MPro over the one very bad possibility)

Kouki was down on herself again, still suffering post-injury worries and lack of confidence, so Chika had to beat some パッション into her (not a recommended depression treatment) (but it worked because at Korakuen, Kouki said she wouldn't look back or hang her head anymore and go win those titles)

Okay, time to finally watch the presser (for Shine Forever) Tachibana said she wanted to challenge for the tag titles with Yuuki Minami, but now she's got a new goal

Every day since the match was made, Shinno was anxious that she wasn't good enough to face her big sister, so she had to put those thoughts away. In the future, she wants to become what Utami has been to others and now they're both crying and so is everybody and huh my eyes are so warm and itchy

Sick sick sick, this goodbye run from Utami is so good and thoughtful and diverse in how she lets her opponents show themselves

If someone wanted to make a highlight reel of Shinno they should just use this match because Utami makes all her offense look dynamite. She's mostly getting overpowered, but Shinno's working a strategy here, trying to take away her opponent's strength with arm attacks.

Very fun trios with Miku the only veteran. CoCo and Hummingbird got to do their thing and it didn't feel like it was Yuuka's first time tagging with CoCo. There's little lucha in her game, but they're the same height, same speed, they sync up well.

This is so fucked up

Making their dynamic Kouki as babyface in peril and GoChika the hot tag feels like the right recipe for tWin toWer. At this point Chika has the more powerful, dynamic offense and Kouki is (still) pretty good at getting beat up.

Nao got too excited about brainbusting (and I won't show it bc spoilers, but post-match Showzuki absolutely flipped her shit because her opponents were being so unserious (high recommend if the idea of violent rage monster Natsumi sounds appealing))

I do enjoy seeing how the more experienced wrestlers guide and integrate The Lady AI into their 3way, at the same time still make their own improvements. That low dropkick targeting the knees 👨‍🍳💋
