In the @HOCcommitteesUK SITC debate on our new Neuroscience and Digital Childhood inquiry I set out how we will examine the science of the impact of tech on children's mental and physical health and brain and eye development to further parents' and policymakers' understanding.

Real change happened this week. The National Living Wage rises 4.1% to £12.71, and the minimum wage for 18–20-year-olds jumps 8.5% to £10.85. The biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation, tackling zero-hours contracts, supporting families, and strengthening trade unions.

Rubbish and fly tipping has plagued the West End for years. I created my 15 point plan for rubbish because my constituents deserve streets free from mattresses and litter. Labour’s Waste Crime Action Plan means tougher penalties, clean-up squads and £45m to take back our streets.

At @CommonsSITC I asked Google whether they provided health or financial advice in response to search queries. They said they gave information not advice, but sought to ensure the quality of the information... it's not clear how useful a distinction that is!

In the Rycroft report debate I raised @CommonsSITC evidence that TikTok Meta and X algorithms are controlled by foreign billionaires with political agendas and asked if that could constitute a political donation. I urged him to implement our proposals on algorithmic transparency

Today at @CommonsSITC, I made it clear it is unacceptable for Meta to suggest that MPs should have to intervene to get small businesses the accountability they deserve. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. If Facebook kicks them offline, they need to know why!

At today's @CommonsSITC we asked companies to account for the harmful content on their platforms, such as TikTok's virtual gift system which police say is being used by sex offenders to reward girls who perform specific acts like handstanding when wearing a skirt.
