At SITC @HOCcommitteesUK Enquiry into the Science and Regulation of Beauty Products and Treatments, I asked our panel whether there were differences in how cosmetic products and treatments were controlled between London and Newcastle - and if my constituents were losing out.

In the @HOCcommitteesUK SITC debate on our new Neuroscience and Digital Childhood inquiry I set out how we will examine the science of the impact of tech on children's mental and physical health and brain and eye development to further parents' and policymakers' understanding.

Real change happened this week. The National Living Wage rises 4.1% to £12.71, and the minimum wage for 18–20-year-olds jumps 8.5% to £10.85. The biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation, tackling zero-hours contracts, supporting families, and strengthening trade unions.

At today's SIT @HOCcommitteesUK I asked preferred @Ofcom chair candidate Sir Ian Cheshire if Ofcom's remit that now includes the postal service, broadcasting and the BBC, telecoms and online safety is too big to be effectively managed and chaired?

I asked the Science Minister @CommonsSITC how he would address the financial mismanagement at @STFC_matters resulting in consistent overspends and cuts. He denied it was mismanagement but confirmed the ambition should be that predicted expenditure meets actual expenditure.

Starlink is owned by Elon Musk who advocates civil war in the UK. OneWeb is part owned by the UK Government, both are satellite telecoms companies. I asked the Digital Minister whether our critical rural telecoms infrastructure was more dependent on Starlink or OneWeb.
