The Climate Consensus

While attribution science doesn’t tell us whether an event would or would not have happened in a world without human-caused warming, it does tell us how much more severe the event was because of climate change. For example, multiple attribution studies were conducted after Hurricane Helene in 2024.

Satellites are crucial for scientific study in the Antarctic because the environment there is not only inhospitable to human life, but it is also very difficult to get there. This means the amount of research that can be conducted onsite is limited.

As the current administration spearheads an assault on renewable energy and climate protections, demonstrations and events this “Sun”day aim to make the case for why solar energy is the correct way forward.

This month’s Meet the Member is Dr. Debanjana Das, an Assistant Research Scientist at Howard University, who has been a member of TCC for six years and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors.
