West Dunbartonshire is 1 of only 10 areas in Scotland receiving a brand new Youth Hub funded by UK Government to support to our young people looking for employment or training, and tackle youth unemployment. I'm looking forward attending the opening of our Youth Hub this month!

At the debate on the Glasgow City Region's economy, I advocated for greater investment in West Dunbartonshire, highlighting the incredible potential we have here in the former Exxon site in Bowling & former Carless site in Old Kilpatrick which could provide well-paid, local jobs.

It is with great sadness that I learned of the sad passing of Tony Worthington, MP for Clydebank and Milngavie from 1987 to 2005. Tony was a great man and will be remembered not least for his work to secure compensation for the victims and families of asbestos related illness.

I highlighted how young people in my West Dunbartonshire constituency are eager for apprenticeships in the primes, asking industry executives what barriers there are to matching supply with this demand, emphasising the need for long term contracts to provide good, well-paid jobs.

I continued to press the Foreign Secretary on securing the release of my constituent from Dumbarton, #JagtarSinghJohal, from arbitrary detention in India. I requested her reassurance that she remains committed to raising Jagtar's case at all levels and opportunities. #FreeJaggiNow

Many of my West Dunbartonshire constituents have shared with me their experiences of living with EDS, with delayed or overlooked diagnoses leading to unnecessary pain & distress. Earlier diagnoses and increased awareness are needed to improve the lives of those living with EDS.

The SNP can’t get the basics right. Today I highlighted the sorry state of Scotland’s roads. The SNP continue to starve our local councils of funding. Scottish Labour will establish a £350million Roads Repair Fund to fix the potholes.

Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Destination Group expressed their concerns to me regarding West Dunbartonshire Council's proposed visitor levy. I argued visitor levies should be invested in to local tourism economies, rather than to fill a hole in local councils' budgets.

@sascampaigns.bsky.social investigation revealed 204,000+ hours of illegal sewage spills occurred in English waters last year, with Scottish Water only monitoring 30% of overflows in Scotland. I asked the UK Government to take tougher action to ensure water companies are held to account.

At yesterday’s Scottish Affairs Committee meeting, I asked how Scottish Colleges can be expected to meet the demands of industry when they’ve received a 20% reduction in funding from Scottish Government in the last 5 years, with a 27% reduction in staff, the lowest staff count ever.

West Dunbartonshire is among the UK’s worst hotspots for asbestos-related cancer deaths from exposure at work, with 340+ deaths since 1980. I led a debate last night on asbestos-related cancer, calling for reform of the 2006 Compensation Act to include non-mesothelioma cases.

Tomorrow marks the 85th anniversary of the Clydebank Blitz, where our town suffered horrendous loss - 528 people killed, only 8 of 12,000 homes left undamaged. I highlighted this today in the House, and how we must continue to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Blitz.

🥃The Scotch Whisky industry supports thousands of local jobs in West Dunbartonshire. I highlighted how the Scotch Whisky Association has described the import tariff cuts following the UK Labour Government's trade deal with India as 'transformational' - a massive win for Scotland's economy.
