🏘️ East Calder keeps growing. So why are local families still waiting for the medical centre they've been promised by the SNP for years? With more homes approved in Calderwood and no sign of construction on the health centre starting, residents are understandably becoming increasingly frustrated.

From one successful butcher's shop to a farm shop, and soon a sports bar too... Dewar Family Butchers continue to go from strength to strength, and it was a pleasure to officially open their new premises in East Calder.

Inflation is down again to 2.8% - welcome progress for families in the Livingston constituency still feeling the pressures of the cost of living crisis.

Good progress is being made on the £20 million Pride in Place investment programme for Fauldhouse, Whitburn and Blackburn. The appointment of Eric Lumsden as independent chair of the Neighbourhood Board is an important step forward. 1/3

Global instability and rising energy prices continue to put pressure on families, and that’s why the UK Labour Government is taking action. We’re keeping the 5p cut to fuel duty in place until the end of the year, cutting red diesel duty for farmers, and introducing a year‑long tax break for HGVs.

Rebuilding Britain for working people was at the heart of this year’s King’s Speech. 1/3

Just hours left to vote for change in Almond Valley. Out in Polbeth just now with Jordan Stokoe and the team, speaking to voters about the positive change Scottish Labour is offering for West Lothian and for Scotland.

Final eve of poll rally in Glasgow this morning with Anas Sarwar and a clear message that Scotland is ready for change.

Out in Fauldhouse last night with Jordan Stokoe, Labour’s candidate for Almond Valley on Thursday. Residents are fed up with illegal trail bikes and quad bikes causing chaos in communities across Fauldhouse and the wider Livingston constituency.

Two days to go. Out in Broxburn today with Jenny Young for Bathgate, speaking to voters who are ready for change after 19 years of rising waiting lists, falling school attainment and a government not focused on the basics.

Less than 48 hours until polls open at 7am on Thursday. I’ve been out in Murieston with Jordan Stokoe, our brilliant candidate and the message from people couldn’t be clearer.

60 hours to deliver change. ⏳ I’m out in Stoneyburn tonight with Jordan Stokoe, our Labour candidate for Thursday’s election and the message on the doorstep is clear.

Out in Calderwood with Jordan Stokoe for the Almond Valley and of course the top issue that came up on the doors was East Calder Medical Centre. Five years on Angela Constance and the SNP promises of “further and faster action”… still nothing has been delivered.

Out in Kirknewton with Jordan Stokoe for Almond Valley and the message on the doorstep is clear, people want change. No matter how they’ve voted before, voters here know only Scottish Labour can beat the SNP in Almond Valley.

In Mid Calder with Jordan Stokoe and the team and the big issue that keeps coming up here is the NHS. People are fed up of broken SNP promises, especially on the East Calder Medical Centre that still hasn’t been delivered.

Out on Nettlehill Road with the West Lothian Litter Pickers as part of #SpringCleanScotland 🗑️ This is a group out week in, week out , not just for the spring clean campaign, but because they care about our communities.

This election is about fixing the SNP’s mess, getting the basics right and building a better future. After almost 20 years of the SNP Scotland needs change. Change that only Scottish Labour can deliver.

Vote for change. Vote Scottish Labour on the 7th May. 🌹🗳️ #BothVotesScottishLabour

Out in Howden with Jordan Stokoe for the Almond Valley, speaking to local residents. The message was clear, people feel like things just aren’t working as they should. ➡️ NHS waiting lists going up ➡️ Standards in schools slipping ➡️ Police tied up behind desks instead of out in our communities

On the doors in Dedridge this with Jordan Stokoe and one issue kept coming up again and again: the NHS. People told me the same thing. The staff are brilliant. The care, when you get it, is excellent. But the system just isn’t working. Too many stuck on waiting lists. Too many waiting too long.

We talk a lot about decisions that affect young people, but not always with them. And yet the issues being debated right now couldn’t be more relevant to their lives. Climate change. Access to further education. Questions around smartphones in schools and social media for under-16s.

East Calder has waited long enough. ⌛ Five years on from SNP promises of “further and faster” progress, we’re now being told they’ll start planning a new health centre. People here don’t need more talk, they need delivery.

What makes a community thrive? It’s not just funding, it’s pride. Pride in your local sports clubs ⚽ Pride in your town 🏡 Pride in your future

Walk down any high street or main street in Scotland and you can see too many shops struggling and too many local businesses under pressure. That’s not by accident. It’s the result of a system that hasn’t kept up, and a SNP Scottish Government that hasn’t been willing to fix it.

If your postal vote has landed - don’t leave it sitting on the side 📮 After nearly 20 years of SNP government, too many people feel things just aren’t working, in our NHS, our schools, and the basics every community relies on. This is your chance to choose change.

3 2

Nineteen years. That’s how long the SNP have had in power and too many families are still waiting longer, paying more, and seeing less. With just 19 days to go to the Scottish Parliament elections, it comes down to one question, if the SNP were going to fix it, why haven’t they done it already?

That’s me wrapped up after my latest coffee morning at Livingston Rugby Club last weekend, thanks again to everyone who came along. We had some really good, wide-ranging conversations, from immigration to dangerous dogs to how we get our NHS working properly for patients.

Out in Deer Park with the team and Jordan Stokoe, our candidate for Almond Valley. Speaking to residents about the choice facing Scotland on the 7th May and one message kept coming through loud and clear, that people want a Scottish government that gets the basics right.

A real turning point for working people 👇 Higher wages, stronger rights, and tougher action against bad employers, delivered by a UK Labour government. ✔️ National Living Wage up to £12.71 ✔️ Better pay for young workers & apprentices ✔️ New rights from day one at work

20 days to go ⏳ After nearly 20 years of SNP failure, it’s time for change. With Anas Sarwar and Scottish Labour, we can get the basics right again: 🏥 NHS 📚 Schools 💷 Cost of living The polls are tightening and only Scottish Labour can beat the SNP.

Applications are now open for the 2026 Robin Cook Internship 👇 A paid summer opportunity for S5 & S6 pupils across the Livingston constituency to gain real experience of political life, both locally and at Westminster.

East Calder was promised a new health centre. Five years on, there’s still nothing. Freedom of Information responses to my office show that the Scottish Government and NHS Lothian has no plans, no correspondence and no delivery model in place.

Ever noticed money leaving your account for something you don’t even remember signing up to? 💸 New rules from the UK Labour Government are coming in to tackle subscription traps and put you back in control.

Young people in West Lothian deserve real routes into work and training, not years of cuts to opportunities. That’s why a new Youth Hub in our community matters. Funded by the UK Labour government, it will give 16–24 year olds a place to get support, build skills, and take their next step.

Getting the basics right came up again and again on the doors in Broxburn and Uphall. I was out on the doors again for my regular street surgery with Scottish Labour's Jenny Young for Bathgate, and the same issues kept coming up, local NHS services, schools, and the state of our roads.

Fuel prices are still a real pressure for a lot of people locally. ⛽ One useful thing to know about is Fuel Finder - you can now check the cheapest petrol prices near you in real time on your phone.

A lot of people across the Livingston constituency are worried about what’s happening in the Middle East and what it could mean here at home. My focus is making sure families in West Lothian are protected and supported through this uncertainty.
