It's weather we've all been waiting for so make sure to go enjoy it! But this isn't just good weather, the record breaking heat is the effects of climate change and this Gov is failing the public in tackling the issue. #sunshine #ireland #climateaction #climatechange

Ireland can no longer afford a National Development Plan that merely "aims" for green targets or one that relies on fossil fuels. Green energy independence means that when global conflicts drive up the price of oil and gas, Irish families are protected because their power comes from renewables!

As we look to celebrate International Women's Day this weekend, let's look at how we can protect all women and girls from online toxicity and violence. Turn off automatic recommender systems, safeguard against AI and hold big tech to account rather than pander to them. #internationalwomensday #IWD

When we look at Epstein Files it feels like we learned nothing from the Me Too movement, we still don't believe women. In Ireland we have insanely low rates of prosecution for trafficking. It doesn't mean there's no trafficking, it just means the law is not fit for purpose and we are doing enough!

The fact is under the assessment toolkit that the Gov is basing their review on it does not take into account many of the extra duties SNAs go above and beyond to do. Our message to this Gov is loud and clear, that we need to prioritise SNAs, the work they do rather than make them feel penalised.

I'm part of the National Action Plan Against Racism Advisory and today with the Special Rapporteur Dr Ebun Joseph we launched our Year 1 monitoring report at the Gresham Hotel today. We found progress but major gaps in implementation and accountability. #racism #ireland #antiracism #equality

The erosion of dance spaces and clubs in our city started before Hoxton. Saying that what Hoxton is doing is absurd. Dance Culture IS Culture! We have been fighting for more dance spaces alongside Give Us The Night, No More Hotels & others. We need more spaces, not less! #Hoxton #Izakaya #Dublin

Went out to call on some constituents and also check storm damage. Storm Chandra should remind us that the impacts of climate change will be for more costly than delivering climate action. Oh I also got elected Deputy Leader of @greenparty.ie yesterday. Come join the fight against climate change!

41 11

Calling all fellow Greens! I am asking for your vote in the Deputy Leader Election. Voting is open from 12pm Monday (26th). Together we can build for a more sustainable, climate resilient Ireland. One that prioritises climate action, nature restoration, providing homes and fighting discrimination.

I made a submission to oppose the proposed changes listed in the consultation by Government to make major changes to the cost rules for judicial reviews. The proposal is designed to restrict access to justice, in breach of EU law and will only benefit the State and the wealthy. #environment #courts

1/2 In light of the violations by Grok the X AI chatbot let's look at the gap in Irish law. There's an apparent and dangerous gap in the law. Under Coco's law that got enacted in 2020 the sharing of deepfake and harmful content is illegal so is the using of such material for harrassment. However

Thousands of commuters stuck in the past day. The #Luas Green line being down is a prime lesson for this Government to prioritise public transport. We need investment into many modes of sustainable public transport so people aren't stuck in cars when one mode of public transport goes down.

16 5

What are the top three things we need to focus on to turn the tide on our rotting system? -Housing -Affordability -Climate Action A big thanks to the Coinnigh Clé- Keep Left campaign for having cross party discussion on the back of the success of the Connolly campaign. #housing #climateaction

24 12

From Metro to Dart+ South West to the Luas, this week has shown clearly how this Government is hell bent on sabotaging itself when it comes to providing sustainable Public Transport infrastructure for Ireland instead opting for more roads. #transport #luas #metro #dart @greenpartyie.bsky.social

10 5

The Metro is delayed again due to a Judicial Review being lodged. What is a Judicial Review you say? Let's have a chat about it and on why public transport infrastructure is vital to tackling the ongoing Climate Crisis and our Housing Crisis.

14 4

The Metro is yet again delayed. Public transport is vital to tackling the ongoing Climate Crisis and our Housing Crisis. The Greens were the only party to make any serious headway on the project when we were in Gov. We must continue to push to ensure we have a sustainable public transport system!

19 10

Greens are back? We never went away! Great to see so many Green members at the march for #ClimateAction in Dublin yesterday. This Government are failing when it comes to Climate Action and we need change now! Join us in the fight! @greenpartyie.bsky.social! @greenpartyni.org @greenparty.org.uk

The recent attack at the IPAS centre in Drogheda is shocking, but not surprising. Nor is the silence from those who shout the loudest about protection of women and children. #drogheda #immigration #asylum #racism #diversityandinclusion

On this Budget Day, let's talk about childcare spaces or the lack thereof. The State needs to become an Early Childcare Provider while working with private providers. This was the model we had started building that this Government is squandering. #childcare #children #budget #budget2026 #education

Some lighter content! Tomorrow is Mid Autumn Festival or "Moon Festival" as I used to call it as a child. And what better way to celebrate than eat mooncakes! Especially homemade ones from the little one! #mooncakes #mooncake #midautumn #moonfestival #midautumnfestival

A BIG thank you to all the lovely messages & three asks: 1) Check your breasts! 2) Write to the Minister of Health to ask her to fund cancer supports & reduce waiting times. 3) Support the various breast cancer charities this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. #breastcancer #cancer #cancerawareness

People should not be fooled by the spin on the National Development Plan Review. Behind the noise about increased spending on transport, the Govt is abandoning the critical schemes that will help us reduce our emissions, like energy innovation, offshore wind and retrofit. @greenpartyie.bsky.social

FINALLY we have emerging plans for College Green and its open for consultation! A beautiful, green and car free public space! Can you imagine?! Make sure you feed your thoughts into the public consultation process. Go to engage.dublincity.ie/en-IE/projec... You have until the 13th of July!

Love Ireland? Then hate racism! Delighted to see so many familiar faces at the anti racism rally in Dublin today. Ireland is not full and Ireland is for all! #racism #antiracism #ireland #immigration #dublin #lovenothate #inclusion #diversity

This week, Greens brought a motion demanding Government stay on TRACK (Timely, Reliable, Affordable, Contactless, Key Targets) when it comes to Public Transport. To establish a new Public Transport Passenger Experience Office & €10 billion increase in capital for public transport in the NDP review!

24 10

According to last census 23% of all HSE nurses & midwives are migrants. 27,000 construction workers are migrants. 84,000 migrants work in hospitality. Ireland's services are held up by migrants & Irish people. So do NOT believe the lies when people say "immigration is why we have no services".

44 21

Government must explain its delay in asking Attorney General for legal advice on including ‘services’ in Occupied Territories Bill! Stop delaying the Bill. People are being slaughtered, we must stop delaying and push back on the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people. #palestine #israel

2/2 Also needing challenging is this Government's inability to be fair, compassionate and effective when it comes to those seeking refuge especially children who have integrated. A failure by this Government to provide fair and just process is not a failure by the applicant.

5 1

Thread 1/2: For those who need reminding Ireland is for all! Our health service, construction, hospitality industries are functioning on the back of migrants so if you hear rhetoric like "Ireland is for the Irish" make sure to challenge it. #inclusion #integration #ireland #saynotoracism

The Department of Expenditure forms taskforce after taskforce. It needs to stop with the talking-shops. When our water and sewage infrastructure are coming apart at the seams and our transport infrastructure has been delayed, project after project, we need to stop talking and start delivering!

4 2

Have you experienced misinformation online? What has become apparent from recent years especially after the Carlow tragedy is that misinformation online is rife. But what is the Government doing? Not very much! But what can they do? Turn off Recommender Systems! And curb Real Time Bidding.

11 6

Earlier today, the Court of Appeals gave a judgement in favour of Dublin City Council on the Strand Road cycle lane. This is a significant moment in protecting the advancement of sustainable transport and being ambitious to tackle climate change with our public spending from Central Government 1/2

28 11

A plan to give Government approval to reforms to the short term letting sector was dropped from the Cabinet agenda at the last minute. In the current Housing Crisis we need to stop putting our homeless into hotels and tourist into homes! #homelessness #housing #crisis #ireland #solutions #dublin

14 10

With the Dublin Transport Plan that so many of us fought long & hard for, we will finally see the pedestrianisation of Parliament Street this summer! A big thanks to Traffic in @dublincitycouncil.bsky.social More space for people cause #StreetsAreForPeople! And in this weather, it'll be amazing!

18 6

2/2 A) Protecting tenants from eviction. B) Increasing our public Housing stock. And most importantly C) Reduce Homelessness. If nothing is actually off the table then the Government needs to fund the scheme properly. Anything else would be as they say in the Dáil recently "ag insint bréaga".

6 1

We've heard Taoiseach say that "nothing is off the table when it comes to housing" and last week we heard "we will do more on housing". Then WHY is this government gutting the Tenant in Situ scheme across the board? A scheme that has proven to work. A scheme that helps with 1/2 (video in two pts)

19 14

2/2 It's something I previously chatted to Mayor Anne Hildago in Paris, they just held a referendum where voters were in favour of pedestrianising Paris more. We need to do the same! And let's build the damn Metro! #dublin #paris #publicrealm #pedestrianisation #pedestrians #cycling #cities #metro

With clocks gone forward and the sun shining brightly what we know we need in our cities are public realm space! We need to RECLAIM the space from cars and use it for walking, cycling and public spaces for people. Streets ARE FOR people! Not for cars! It's what I was on Newstalk pushing for. 1/2

36 13

On this International Women's Day, what do wome want? We want to: -Walk home without fear -End Gender Based violence -Equal pay -Equal access to health -Support for ALL women -Our successes celebrated -our fears recognised #internationalwomensday #IWD #women #genderbasedviolence #transrights

3/3 Climate change is worse than ever and we need a Climate Resilience Fund in every local authority. @greenpartyie.bsky.social @greenpartyni.bsky.social

2/3 #Accenture pulling their Diversity Equity and Inclusion policy in a period where we need diversity and inclusion more than ever is nothing short of ridiculous. Equally the Taoiseach not using the Seanad to equal the playing field is equally as ridiculous. @womenforelection.bsky.social

7 0

On Newstalk earlier to talk on 1/3 -Trump's ethnic cleansing of Palestinians -Taoiseach's mistake for not using the Seanad to actually back diversity. -Why we need Climate Resilience Fund especially post Éowyn! #politics #gaza #palestine🇵🇸 #trump #diversity #inclusion #equality #Equity #climate

The absolute scenes at the Dàil today is something that doesn't need to be repeated again. But those gaining from being in Government can't say they're not part of Government. (Video credit: Irish Times and Oireachtas TV)

Despite the Ceasefire in Gaza, Palestine is still very much occupied and Palestinians under attack. We need to stand with Palestine, pass the Occupied Territories Bill! #palestine #ireland #gaza #westbank

4 3

This next Government will be more conservative than the last. A business-as-usual approach will not deliver fair and affordable housing solutions, even if we are increasing supply. If elected to the Seanad, I will work to improve and amend legislation that better serves people, not just developers.

11 4

Did you attend Trinity or have your degree awarded by #Trinity? I want to be a strong voice in the Seanad for climate, for equality, and for a better Ireland. I'm asking for your No. 1 vote or highest preference to ensure that we have a strong, progressive voice representing you in the Oireachtas.

43 17

Tough weekend for the Greens. But we'll be back fighting. A huge thank you to all my voters and the thousands who voted for the Greens. We'll still be working to push for climate action and social justice and we'll be coming back stronger. #ClimateAction #GE24
