I live and drive in Detroit, and I am no stranger to the rising costs. Michigan drivers were promised the last round of auto insurance reforms would lower costs and instead they went up. Auto insurance reform is going to be my priority as governor.

Today is Memorial Day. As a military spouse, I think of the families who didn’t get their service members back. Behind every name is a husband, a parent, a wife, and a child. Today, and always, we honor their sacrifice and carry their memory forward.

Time to rein in utility rate hikes, invest in clean energy, and stop letting power companies pass costs onto the people who can least afford it.

The truth is on our side. The law is on our side. The Constitution is on our side. The people are on our side. With that in our corner, Michigan can't lose.

At the Bowen Senior Center in Pontiac, I met older Michiganders, parents, and grandparents who want our state to work for everyone.

To Orion and every Michigan family worried about their water: I’ve got your back. We won’t stop until every pipe is replaced and every tap is safe.

My parents were special education teachers, so spending time at Rising Stars Academy in Center Line took me back to my roots! Great to see firsthand the lives Mark and Deb Prentiss are changing - giving kids experiences and confidence to do great things.

On May Day, we’re reminded that dignity at work is always worth fighting for. This week in Dearborn, I was proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Teamster nurses on the picket line as they demanded what every worker deserves: fair pay, safe working conditions, and respect on the job.

No Donald Trump, you can’t seize our ballots or have access to voters’ private data. Not on my watch.

As governor, I won’t sell out Michigan for any project — data centers included. I’ll be focused on protecting our waters, keeping energy affordable, and making sure every community is heard. That’s how we grow the right way.

Democrats were out in force this weekend! The highest-attended MDP convention in history brought together folks from across the state hungry for leadership that will drive down costs, grow our economy, and protect our democracy. So let’s get it done!

I could easily spend all day at The Curious Bookshop in Lansing 📚 So many cool finds, including actual copies of legislative records from all the way back in the 1800s — and a mind-blowing science fiction section with books over 100 years old.

So you guys, I tried the banana milk latte at Strange Matter Coffee in Lansing, and all I have to say is I may never be the same. Also picked up some of the world’s best and most creative donuts. Local businesses add so many special flavors to our communities and get us trying new things? ☕️🍌

In this moment, governors are the guardrails against election deniers who want to rip away our access to the ballot box. I’ve stood up for Michigan citizens as Secretary of State, and I’ll stand up to anyone — even the President — to protect your voices and votes as governor.

Reproductive freedom is a constitutional right in Michigan. I’m honored to defend that right alongside Reproductive Freedom for All CEO Mini Timmaraju and thousands of Michiganders across our state. I’m in this fight with you, and I will never back down.

In 1965, Detroit’s Viola Liuzzo drove to Alabama to join the Selma-to-Montgomery march because she believed equality and justice belong to every American. Her courage inspires me every day. It was an honor to visit her memorial with my fellow Michigan lawmakers.

No family should be forced to live in unsafe housing while landlords avoid accountability and still collect rent. When the system fails to enforce the rules, it’s families who pay the price. Parents shouldn’t have to fight this hard just to keep their children safe at home.

From prosecuting the Klansmen behind the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing to serving in the U.S. Senate, @dougjones.bsky.social has long stood for justice and equality. Now he’s running to be the next governor of Alabama. Thank you, Senator Jones, for sharing a piece of Birmingham’s story.

The streets of Alabama tell the story of the movement that made the Voting Rights Act of 1965 possible. It was a struggle marked by courage, sacrifice, and the unshakable demand for equality. Each year I make the trip to Selma to honor the men and women who risked everything for the freedom to vote.

West Michigan is lucky to have @hillaryscholten.bsky.social fighting for them in Congress, and I’m lucky to have her on Team Benson. Let’s go win!

I started my career in Montgomery, Alabama, because I wanted to learn from those who marched and bled to demand our country live up to its constitutional promise. Now the baton is passed to us, and we must ask: what will we do to honor and carry on the work of those who’ve gone before us?

Governors are the guardrails for our rights and our freedoms. They’re the leaders who set the direction for our state, lower costs, and expand real economic opportunity so more people can access well-paying jobs. That’s what I’ve done as Secretary of State, and it’s what I’ll do as governor.

Bringing the jobs of tomorrow to Michigan and protecting our environment can and must go hand in hand. Michigan has an opportunity to get this right. Let’s lead the nation in showing we can be pro-growth, pro-water, and pro-labor.

Every marathon I run reminds me that if we put one foot in front of the other, we’re capable of more than we ever thought possible. That’s exactly how I’m running this campaign: one conversation after another and one city at a time as we build momentum to make Michigan the best place to call home.
