Spurs hesitated at a real important moment in game one. @joinoffside.bsky.social

Wemby was great all series but down the stretch it was the other guys who stepped up in a big way to seal game 7 in OKC and send them to the Finals. @joinoffside.bsky.social

Harper is just too smooth, he's doing this as a rookie on some of the best perimeter defenders in the league.

9 0

He just makes everyone look so small.

15 0

He just makes everyone look so small.

3 0

Love him or hate him, this is just smooth from Shai.

3 0

One, Spurs do a good job getting to an empty side action with Wemby. Two, LMAO!

1 0

This is great rotation from the Spurs after they double SGA, Harper immediately gets out once he gives up the ball, takes the Wallace cut, leads to a turnover and Castle run out. I'm good with that being a common foul if the Bryant foul last game was a common foul.

4 0

First great box out from Bryant on Chet and then an amazing pass cross court pass from Harper to Wemby, completely flipped the court and Wemby gets a clean one.

23 4

Wemby's roll and Castle's penetration sucks in the whole defense and that leaves Harper open for the clean three.

9 0

These are the types of possessions the Spurs need to stay away from, very stagnant.

6 0

GREAT pass fake from Caruso to open up the pass to the corner.

6 1

Wemby saw all red when Chet rotated over.

140 24

Great sign for OKC, Chet being aggressive to start.

1 0

Harper has been hampered by injuries but this is a much needed attack the Spurs need from him more regularly.

13 0

It is simple but I love starting the play with Wemby starting on the baseline then coming up into the screen. Even a screening action to get Castle the touch.

7 0

This is what I was talking about earlier, everything is on the outside then Wallace gets one to cut into the lead. The Thunder are slowly coming.

2 0

This is just a dumb foul! The Castle foul a possession before where he just pushed Williams was also dumb. Stop doing dumb things.

8 0

Okay, this is a great possession, Fox gets a paint touch in transition, Harper attacks off the kick, draws a double find the corner pass, leads to a swing-swing-Wemby drive. That's good offense. Sorry screwed up the editing.

7 1

It's over when he gets to his spots.

5 0

The Spurs need to do more of this, if they are going to under the first action, re-screen immediately (this was a little slower) you'll get a better look.

5 0

This one was nasty from SGA.

5 1

Don't leave SGA! Bryant does a great job stopping the first drive but he needs to let Caruos drive, stay attached to Shai.

6 0

Not sure why Chet is biting so hard on that Johnson pump fake, it opened up the driving lane and led to the lob for Wemby.

7 0

HEY a proper 2-on-1 break, give up the ball early and get it back!

5 1

Two different times, no weak side pull in. Robinson gets a free run to the rim for the lob.

9 1

Just awful stuff from the Cavs.

65 6

This is just bad transition defense, Mitchell is trying to switch off KAT but Mobley is still trying to get back, he has no chance to get there. Mitchell has to stay, transition defense you got to be prepared to be in mismatches. Just bad defense.

10 0

This is just basic stuff, the shot goes up and someone needs to track back, should have been Mitchell with Strus crashing the glass.

32 3

Williams misses the three but this was great ball movement from the Thunder, Spurs did a great job scrambling but the Thunder still found a clean look.

6 0

This possession needs to be on the tape tomorrow if you are Mitch Johnson, Wemby attacks kicks to Vassell, he attacks gets into the paint gets the Thunder in rotation leading to a swing-swing-three. That's how you beat OKC

12 3

Everyone is just mobilized for the Spurs. Vassell reads Chet and comes up with the steal, hits Harper, who has a 3 on 1, SGA shades towards Wemby (like he should) Harper hits Castle with the lob.

11 3

Just a heads up play from Castle sneaking up on Hartenstein (Caruso has to say something) and then finds Wemby who just stretches out from nearly the free throw line!

42 4

First just add this to the Wemby highlight reel. Second and more importantly, this is deflating for the Thunder, you battle all second quarter keep it a one score game and then he drills this!

17 2

HAHAHA! Wemby does this regularly and I chuckle every time.

15 0

Good collapse from Wallace on that Johnson drive, Keldon has to see that coming and prepare for the kick, granted he lost it a dribble before Wallace came down but he is too heads down right now.

5 0

Caruos comes flying from just above the three point line for this block. He does not quit on plays.

4 0

Getting in transition is big for the Spurs. It's like four steps for Wemby!

8 0

This is the pace the Spurs need to play with, great kick ahead from Castle.

7 0

I know Williams was getting back but I would have loved to see Wemby run down to the block on this run out, try to get a deep seal on Williams. Put them in a tough spot.

5 0

One key in this pick and roll action is how low the second screen is, it forces Hartenstein to have to get in front of Castle for a beat which opens the lob to Wemby.

25 1

Woof, the Cavs defensive effort in the second half was brutal and lacked effort. That’s why they’re down 0-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Knicks. @joinoffside.bsky.social

42 5

I mean, this whole thing is over. Look at Harden on this possession.

98 18

Bridges cut through the line kind of served as a screen once OG got the ball with Harden and Mitchell ending up in the same spot.

7 0

Just a great stunt from Brunson to slow up Mobley's roll leading to him picking up the ball and then eventually turning the ball over. Cavs cannot stop turning the ball over.

7 0

17 points off turnovers for the Knicks, great job from KAT staying low defensively rotated off Allen in the dunker spot to break up the pass and then the Knicks push in transition.

8 0

Okay this is a real small thing but look at the effort from Bridges to sprint back to get in front of Mitchell to make sure Brunson isn't on him. These small things lead to big things.

31 4

Back to back turnovers and the Knicks just go off. KAT with the eurostep and then Shamet with the corner three.

5 0

I love everything about this, not only does Brunson start off ball, he screens for KAT then fakes like he's going to set a back screen but slips out of it then attacks. Just great movement that Thibs could never put in his offense.

26 2

Great work from Joe to set up his man before sprinting off the double stagger DHO.

4 0

We just don't know how to run fast breaks anymore.

9 0

Obviously the block is great but the defense as whole is just swarming and giving the Thunder no room to operate.

8 0

Just no space for SGA coming off the flat ball screen, he's got Wemby in front of him and Castle on his hip. Then the Spurs with some good to great passing for a three.

8 1

Spurs are flying in transition right now.

8 0

Thunder get lost in match ups in transition no one picks up Vassell after he grabs the rebound and gets the three. Hartenstein is pointing for Chet to Wemby but he never covers for Chet.

15 1

This works too!

6 0

I know Hart hit a few shots and the Cavs are giving him this shot but a baseline cut here and there might also make them rethink it.

4 0

Cavs put two on the ball, Brunson gets off it quickly to Bridges in the strong side corner, he drives Strus and finds Hart in the opposite corner.

2 0

I love the continuous nature of this attack, Brunson tries to push in transition, nothing doing but turns back and hands off it to OG who gets attack the defense that shifted to stop Brunson.

3 0

Bridges after making the layup in transition, then picks up Harden 3 quarter court, nearly forces an 8 second count but picked up the foul. You can see the plan to tire Harden.

6 0

Got to give McCain a ton of credit for battling for that offensive board.

7 0

This was nasty.

10 2

Great sequence from SGA, hits the midranger and then rejects Harper's shot on the end.

6 1

All you can do is laugh. I don't know what you can do!

28 3

You have to be up on Wemby, can't be hanging back.

11 1

This is a worry of mine for McCain in this series, these Spurs guards can just bully him, happened in game one against Harper and now Castle.

5 0

Pretty solid u-turn from Joe when he got in the paint and saw Wemby.

10 0

Another view, I mean Castle just destroyed Hartenstein and the rim!

68 16

HOLY SHIT!

188 46

WAIT A SUCCESSFUL 2-on-1!!!

10 1

I am not sure when it happened but we have completely lost the plot on how to run a 2-on-1 fast break, instead it is just try to go get fouled instead of getting wide and working the break.

11 0

There are not a lot of guys that can move Dort the way Harper just did now. WOW!

121 5

I hate helping off the strong side corner but this was also a great opportunity for a peel switch with Hart running to Mobley and OG taking Mitchell.

9 0

Game one of the Western Conference Finals was the Wemby game but tucked in there was the Harper game! The Rook was amazing on both ends. @joinoffside.bsky.social

35 1

Pistons have not been able to contain these drives from the Cavs, constantly pulling help over leading to clean looks. Great pass on this one from Harden.

5 0

Cavs are doing a great job with their movement, I’m posting it now but this circle up from Allen created the passing lane for the Merrill three.

7 0

Mobley is having a great start to the game. His aggression has been great, strong drive from Mitchell opens the door for the Mobley dump off.

10 0

First great ball movement from the Cavs, second LeVert has to be better here not sure what he's doing to prep for Mitchell here but then overreacts which pulled Stewart and then leads to the collapse, swing-swing-three.

15 2

Wemby's elbow to Naz Reid was more a message than anything. @joinoffside.bsky.social

44 5

This is not Wolves specific but it really feels like no one knows how to run a 2-on-1 break anymore.

21 1

Reggie Miller "shaking his head in approvement", that's a ucla education for you.

56 3

I just don't know what to say about this effort from Harden.

101 7

Brutal five point swing! Bad shot from Mitchell and then a Cade-Duren lob!

13 0

Even though the Spurs give up the offensive rebound, this is a really good defensive possession, look at the rotation from the Spurs.
