Following the trend that we are seeing across the country, data center developers are now attempting to bring data centers to Minneapolis. Over the past month, lobbyists have been visiting City Hall and making it clear that they want to open new data centers soon.

Despite repeated pushback from the City Council and community, the Mayor’s administration brought back the proposal to acquire land for a $38 million Public Safety Training & Wellness Center.

Davis Moturi and Allison Lussier, and their families and loved ones, deserve more than an investigation and a report. They deserve justice. The Minneapolis Police Department failed to keep them safe. Now we need to take action to make real changes and reform to ensure that doesn't happen again

It should not be possible for any department in the City to overspend their budget by $20 million without the knowledge of anyone on the Council or any City Official. We need to be responsible and exercise careful oversight of our public tax money.

Public health advocates are clear that in order to do the important work of preventing the spread of deadly diseases like HIV and Hepatitis C, we need to decriminalize the possession of drug paraphernalia to allow for harm reduction measures.

There is a lot of talk about re-appointment of city officials, so I wanted to talk about it. I voted against re-appointing Public Safety Commissioner Barnette because I take my role of oversight seriously, and we deserve leaders who are tracking and being responsible with taxpayer dollars.

Thank you to Council Member @jchavezmpls.bsky.social for bringing forward the Care Over Criminalization Ordinance, I am proud to be a co-author. Yesterday we heard from public health advocates who spoke to how important this ordinance is to doing their work.

What could you do with $40M in your community? I'm at Lake and Chicago where there are vacant lots that have sat since 2020. We could have more homes, businesses, and a more vibrant commercial corridor. I think that is a way better use of the money!

🧵The Frey administration is proposing that the City of Minneapolis spend at least $40 million on a “Public Safety Training and Wellness Center.”

Everyone in Minneapolis agrees, or to priority is spring our neighbors targeted by ICE. The City Council passed a temporary extension of the eviction timeline from 30 to 60 days. The Mayor vetoed that and chose to stand with landlords short-term profits instead of our immigrant neighbors

On Thursday the City Council passed Pause Evictions Save Lives to give our neighbors an extra month to come up with rent as we recover from the federal occupation! Thank you to those who came and testified. We need the mayor to sign this as soon as possible! Urge him to do so at 612-673-2100

During their presentations they both confirmed that MPD did not bring a single case to the County Attorney to charge federal agents for violating the law. I have heard repeatedly from our community that we expected MPD to bring forward cases to the County Attorney, so this was disappointing to hear.

🧵 This week the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) Chief, Brian O’Hara, and Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty both presented to the City Council on their responses to Operation Metro Surge.

Rent is due! Our immigrant neighbors need rent assistance because Trump has kept so many from working. I'm fighting for rent assistance at the local level but we need the state and philanthropy to step up too

In order for our neighbors and communities to feel safe we need to get ICE out of our city and state. I call on elected leaders at every level of government to work alongside the City Council and community leaders towards this goal.

You have a right to walk your dog at night and feel safe and *everyone* has the right to talk to a Minneapolis police officer and be safe! We can't sacrifice one for the other, we can hold two truths at one time. I'm committed to holding those truths on city council. Vote by November 4th!

We had an amazing time on our 38-mile bike ride yesterday! I love living in such a bikeable city, and we know that it can be even better. In addition to raising money for my campaign, we were riding for our values:
