When you pay off a credit card or mortgage, the bank can’t charge you interest on repayments you’ve already made. That would be illegal. But when the government does it, it’s fine and normal. Sign my petition today to fix HECS. We've done it before, let's do it again.

Almost 3 million 🇦🇺 woke up today owing more on their HECS debt. The HECS system is broken, and the only way we can force change is by applying pressure on the govt. Join my campaign. www.moniqueryan.com.au/fix-hecs

In 2029–30, students and graduates will pay more in HECS indexation than multinational gas corporations pay in tax on our oil and gas. Let that sink in. Australians deserve a fair share of our natural resources, and a government with the courage to stand up for them.

For the past six months, I’ve campaigned every week to make the government understand that ‘Medical Research Matters’. In next week’s budget, we’ll find out whether they agree. Have I succeeded? Will we hear Jim Chalmers say the magic words next Tuesday?

The Japan PM is in town to twist the government's arm just as the campaign to fairly tax our gas exports gains real momentum. Coincidence? I don't think so. There’s plenty of hot air in the debate about gas exports, particularly where Japan is concerned. Let’s set the record straight.

The new Australian Tertiary Education Commission will oversee our university system. Unfortunately, one thing it won’t do is look at student contributions, the biggest driver of the HECS crisis.

Why can't we have nice things? There are plenty of reasons, but one of the biggest is that the govt refuses to tax gas exports properly. My thoughts on reports the Albanese Govt has backed gas company profits over the health of the budget and the will of most Australians.

The Liberals seem stuck in a 1970s nostalgia loop. Making homes more affordable for young Australians is *not* an assault on aspiration.

We scored a win on the ATEC legislation last night, but the fight isn’t over. The Jobs‑Ready Graduates scheme has to go! 🙅‍♀️

The global energy crisis will enable oil and gas companies to make huge profits, which we won’t benefit from because our main fossil fuel tax, the PRRT, is so poorly designed.

Already more than 5,000 Australians have joined our campaign to release more funding for medical research in the 2026 Federal Budget. If you can spare 30 seconds of your time to join our campaign, you’ll help fund life-saving cures in Australia. www.moniqueryan.com.au/medical_rese...

Heat kills, and it’s time the Albanese government did something about it. After record heat scorched Vic today, I’m kicking off a campaign to name heatwaves & save lives. While we’re at it, perhaps we should name deadly heat after those making the biggest contribution. Heatwave Woodside, anyone?

It's my belief that only a federal Royal Commission can comprehensively and independently investigate all circumstances leading up to the Bondi terrorist attacks.

Australia’s medical and scientific research sectors save lives and are vital to our economy. The government has to step up and lean in to their potential. It’s small-minded and short-sighted to force them to wither on the vine, when we have money put aside for this purpose in the Future Fund.
