The new Australian Tertiary Education Commission will oversee our university system. Unfortunately, one thing it won’t do is look at student contributions, the biggest driver of the HECS crisis.

Australia’s medical and scientific research sectors save lives and are vital to our economy. The government has to step up and lean in to their potential. It’s small-minded and short-sighted to force them to wither on the vine, when we have money put aside for this purpose in the Future Fund.

Why can't we have nice things? There are plenty of reasons, but one of the biggest is that the govt refuses to tax gas exports properly. My thoughts on reports the Albanese Govt has backed gas company profits over the health of the budget and the will of most Australians.
