Nearly a million people in WA state qualify for federal legal aid—a program Trump wants to defund entirely. I met with clients whose lives were changed by the work this funding makes possible. I protected funding for legal aid this year, and I’ll do it again.

I met with kids in Yakima who rely on housing and homelessness programs to keep a roof over their heads.    Trump tried to cut these programs by HALF. I said no–and even increased that funding. Let’s build more housing for our kids, not a ballroom for Trump.

In Pierce County with Executive Mello to discuss funding I secured to expand Tacoma-Pierce Co. Public Health's mobile medical services. Trump tried to cut federal funding to help our states fight the addiction crisis by $1B. I stopped him. This is not the time to cut back on life-saving resources.

The Senate passed a bill to fund all of DHS except ICE and Border Patrol. And we did it with the unanimous consent of ALL 100 SENATORS. Speaker Johnson refused to vote on this bill and chose to continue holding TSA hostage and to continue Trump's chaos.

If you make under $184k, you pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate. Everything after that cap is exempt from the tax. So if you make $1 million per year, you pay about 2.2%. And it's 0.002% for billionaires. If we lifted the cap, Social Security could be funded for decades.

The only reason TSA agents are going without pay right now is because Republicans are holding their paychecks hostage so they can shovel more money at ICE and CBP. That's absurd. Republicans need to stop blocking our bill to pay TSA & start getting serious about basic ICE reforms.

Trump has NO strategy for the war with Iran.   But you don’t need to believe me – listen to him talk about it!   Our women & men in uniform deserve better.

You do not go to war by having a press conference. It's on the President to show Congress and the American people that there is a real justification and endgame. Trump's done none of that. This war should end TODAY.
