Since the day the Affordable Care Act was signed into law 16 years ago today, Republicans have been hellbent on ripping away the protections it guarantees.  For Republicans, there's always money for war, never for your health care.

If you make under $184k, you pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate. Everything after that cap is exempt from the tax. So if you make $1 million per year, you pay about 2.2%. And it's 0.002% for billionaires. If we lifted the cap, Social Security could be funded for decades.

I spoke with health care providers in Ellensburg, and here's what I know: Medicaid cuts mean more uninsured patients and tougher margins for rural hospitals already stretched thin. It's not an accident—it was a GOP policy decision. We need a Congress that will repeal the cuts.

Democrats want to get TSA agents paid, but we won't help Republicans cut a blank check to help Stephen Miller terrorize Americans.    And I won’t let Trump blackmail Democrats into funding rogue ICE agents just because he started a war with Iran.

In Pierce County with Executive Mello to discuss funding I secured to expand Tacoma-Pierce Co. Public Health's mobile medical services. Trump tried to cut federal funding to help our states fight the addiction crisis by $1B. I stopped him. This is not the time to cut back on life-saving resources.

Gas prices and energy prices are SURGING. Trump wants to totally defund programs that help drive down costs. Meanwhile, his Energy Secretary has NO solution to bring down gas prices other than "it's Biden's fault." I guess I missed the part where Joe Biden declared war on Iran.

Anti-abortion extremists have been pounding on EPA’s doors demanding the agency join their crusade to ban medication abortion, warning about “abortion in the water.” Lee Zeldin said he had NO idea what I was talking about. Oh really?

Linda McMahon & Trump are wrecking the Department of Education. Why? So we can throw another half-TRILLION dollars at the Pentagon? Maybe I'm biased as a former preschool teacher, but I think investing in our kids is more important than shoveling money at defense contractors.

Republicans are trying to BAN medication abortion in all 50 states. They want to force women to give birth no matter the circumstances. Let me be clear: I'll be fighting to kill this bill. American women deserve full reproductive freedom and nothing less.
