Asm. Singh spoke before the Transportation Committee this week in support of his legislation, AJR150, to designate September 21 as “New Jersey Pedestrian Crosswalk Safety Day” in honor of Bruce Morlack, a beloved Burlington City School District crossing guard who lost his life protecting students.
Blocked bus stops and bike lanes don’t just cause traffic, they can put riders, pedestrians, and cyclists in danger. The Transportation committee advanced legislation (A1545) yesterday that would allow NJ Transit buses equipped with cameras to issue citations to vehicles illegally blocking lanes.
