Both hospital staff and the servicemembers they cared for suffered badly when the government tried outsourcing healthcare at Walter Reed. Congress stepped in to stop it, but now some lawmakers are trying to go back to the old system. I'm glad @democrats-armedservices.house.gov helped block them:

I just wrapped up another oversight visit to Delaney Hall. My thoughts:

One of my favorite parts of this job is bringing federal funding home to South Jersey and I was happy to have delivered $500,000 in Community Project Funding to Haddonfield for a brand new police headquarters.

Yesterday I was at the South Jersey Port in Camden to deliver $250,000 in Community Project Funding for new safety improvements.    I spoke with Dave Mayer, executive director of the South Jersey Port Corp., about how these improvements are going to help our local economy and keep our workers safe:

Early voting sites are now open across New Jersey! Staying engaged in our democracy helps keep our country strong, and I hope everyone makes their voices heard at the ballot box.  To find your polling place, use this link: voter.svrs.nj.gov/polling-plac...

Today in Camden, we recognized the servicemembers from our community who gave their lives to keep America safe.  In these brave men and women no longer with us, we find stories of inspiring service, selfless courage, and hope for a safer world.

I just left a @democrats-edworkforce.house.gov hearing with HHS Secretary Kennedy, where I pressed him on the Trump administration's changes to mental health and addiction parity rules. Here's my thoughts:

Trump has said publicly time and time again that funding Medicare, Medicaid, child care services, and other programs that make life more affordable for working families is not a priority. He'd much rather fund his war of choice in Iran. Hear it is again, right out of his mouth.

April is National Donate Life Month and yesterday I got the chance to tour the new transplant center at Virtua Lady of Lourdes Hospital. My office was able to secure a $2 million community funding grant to help expand and renovate this state of the art facility so that it can continue saving lives.

Yesterday I toured Delaney Hall with @menendez.house.gov, where we heard from those being held inside. These people are human beings and deserve to be treated as such. Here's my thoughts:

The Medal of Honor is the highest and most prestigious military award. Today, on National Medal of Honor Day, we recognize the servicemembers who distinguished themselves through valor.

My three priorities in Congress have always been the same: jobs, education, and security. Last week, I delivered $1.7 million in Community Project Funding to Magnolia and Westville fire departments. Investing in public health and safety is how we ensure there's lasting security in our neighborhoods.

We have to make smart investments that keep South Jersey on the map as a leader in education and innovation. That's why I worked hard to secure $1.9 million for Rowan University and Gloucester County. Our students are the future, and we've got to make sure they're prepared for the workforce.

There’s been a lot of tough news lately, but the $2 million I secured for Pennsauken's Public Works facility and Maple Shade's water treatment plant is a real reminder of what can happen when government listens and delivers for our communities.

America has the talent. Now we need the programs that inspire the next generation to enter the workforce that will help build and sustain our defense industrial base.
